"Sorry if this is hijacking a bit but it made me think of a study I read on people who receive care support and how often their only emotional connections are with employed staff who have to remain "professional" so physical contact is frowned upon. It made me really sad. I can't imagine having no one to hug or to show me physical affection. Even a wee arm rub of reassurance makes so much difference. We need more hugging! We should take the European custom of embracing someone to say hi and replace the stiff old handshake!" I'm with you Bunny let's start a campaign | |||

"So a recent report suggested an increase of guy's in their mid 30's and above saying that they felt alone at least once a week. I can't remember the exact figure but I was a high percentage. Apparently as guys get older friendships start to dwindle, and new friendships are harder to make. So I'm offering any guys that need a big, mainly, back slapping, bear of a hug to come and get one

I bumped into a friend I hadn't seen for a while last week and we had hug (in the street with a few strange looks) and one of my closest friends who moved away when we see each other we have a manly hug. I've noticed it's harder to make friends as you grow older as the most contact you tend to have with people is at work and I haven't made many close friends at work and the reason for this is probably because i'm the boss and people don't tend to want to get too close hahaha Made a few friends through Fabs but they don't tend to want to hang out unless i'm bringing the wife with me  | |||

Interesting.... as recently been thinking about this.
I bumped into a friend I hadn't seen for a while last week and we had hug (in the street with a few strange looks) and one of my closest friends who moved away when we see each other we have a manly hug.
I've noticed it's harder to make friends as you grow older as the most contact you tend to have with people is at work and I haven't made many close friends at work and the reason for this is probably because i'm the boss and people don't tend to want to get too close hahaha
