We have 2 rooms that we want to add a little bit of privacy to, one is a patio door in the kitchen which looks out onto the garden, blinds or curtains are not really an option. The other room is the lounge which is overlooked by people walking in the street. The kitchen door is more for security, the lounge is more for our privacy we like to sit around naked. I've done a bit of googling but unsure what's best.

We want to see out of both rooms so pres we need a one way film, but don't want blackout windows, maybe patterned.

Has anybody got any advice on this or know of a company who can come & tell us what we need? Thanks in advance.

You can get mirror film where you can see out but looking in they just see mirror. No idea of suppliers sorry, I just know it does exist.

I've bought loads of this stuff on eBay. You can buy it in rolls relatively cheaply and you can get it in a vast array of colours and designs.

Yes did look on the bay, there is a lot of blackout film but that's not what we want. Want us to be able to see out & others have a restricted view in.

A bit costly, but there is such a thing as LCD glass. Basically it's got a switch and power supply. You flick a switch and it makes the glass frosted. Flick it off and you can see through it again.

The only drawback with the mirror film is at night.....if you have a light on people can see straight through from outside.

Self adhesive window film might be an option? Comes in different patterns which might offer barioys levels of privacy ...

Also you can get double glazed units with blinds built in between the glass...but I think they will be costly too.

You should also try Glass & Glazing companies who should be able to assist you.

Plus try companies who manufacture or sell mirrors.

Most of what I've seen does add privacy but also blocks our view of the garden from the inside. We'd like something patterned but don't think they offer one way privacy, the only thing that looks suitable are tint films like you'd put on your car, which are dull & boring. TBH don't think what we want is available sadly.
