I adore them and having them around is so great since they are an endangered species now

Hopefully no fleas yet as it's still cold

I grew up next to some woods and we always had loads running around. And squirrels!

I live in a city centre now, the only wildlife is pigeons and rats!

Aww that's lovely! I haven't seen one for ages!

I think it's so sad that my kids have NEVER seen one in real life.

I hope the mild weather means more food for them and, hopefully, a boost in baby making.

Haha I left work one night and saw a fox sitting in the bus stop. I wasn't sure if I should join the queue or just walk

We used to have a little family of them living under our decking. They'd sneak out every night and we'd leave food out for them. The kids were small then and they loved (well, we all did) just watching them been all hedgehoggy.

I believe the rise in badger numbers has been bad news for the hedgehogs, I love em both, but those badgers do love to eat hedgehog for supper.

Hedgehogs are mainly in danger from the decline in their natural habitat.

Slug pellets and garden tools claim a lot of lives too. As do ponds with no foothold to get out.

Every night, at bedtime, I used to open our front door, to check that all was well, before locking up.

There used to be an albino hedgehog snuffling around out there, almost every night.

Apparently, there were only about 6 of them, in the whole country.

The local wildlife rescue place, deals with dozens of hedgehogs a year.

where the road goes on forever

For us , it depends on how much rain we've had, if its dry animals come in to town coyotes, fox, skunks, (prairie dogs, jack- rabbits , cotton-tails always)

We saw two during the early evening, one did not seem so good. Called tiggywinkles who told us that if you see them during daylight they are not well and need immediate attention.

Apparently lung worm is getting them more than lack of habitat and gardens lacking slugs & snails.

We captured them and took them to tiggy's ...

I could do with some more hedgehogs to assist at my allotment. The fox tries to help out but his usual idea is to follow me around and dig holes where I've just sown seeds which makes a right mess of my attempts at straight rows.

I walked into the conservatory to find a bird, perched on the edge of a chair.

Before I could say a thing... tits out and about all over the place. I must admit to be taken aback. Try as I might I just couldn't get my hands on them.

In the end I opened the patio doors and out they flew.

This is true and if they don't curl up they aren't being friendly, then need help

Bread and milk harm them too. They like cat food but no pork or fish flavours as not good for them.
