Isn't that every year if you believe the papers and on top of that if/when it happens it tends to be areas where speculators have bought houses as investments rather than as homes and in my humble opinion if it does happen to them, good.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed the interest rates stay the same, remortgaging later this year and is it stands we should be able to knock 5 years off the mortgage and pay £10 a month less.

Can I ask why you say it's good?

It's a buyers market! I've had experience of that this year.

Give it four to six months and it'll be even more of a buyers market. A significant dip in values is on its way.

Can't see it myself but with an election and such unknown on brexit it could create some instability but not a significant dip

There are several factors in the mix, all of which on their own will depress values going forward. Combined, its going to be painful for those currently buying. Buy by all means, but be aware that this is the top of the market...be prepared to live in what you buy for several years though is well-placed advice.

For my own reasons I hope so,

The house prices where I want to buy have been rising for years, For every couple of thousand I put away they seem to have risen by 10s of thousands

Don't rush into buying this year. The situation will be significantly different by this time next year.
