Im one of those people (like i used to mock my parents about) that hasnt listened to any new bands in ages :/ i still listen to the new music my old favourite bands put out but not really anything new. I have always had a really diverse music taste but usually some kind of rock from Less Than Jake to My Ruin with placebo inbetween

With those guidelines I can heartily recommend Twin Atlantic - GTA, Marmozets - weird and wonderful , Creeper - Eternity,in your Arms

I have heart on the radio everyday so listen to a lot of current pop music. Some of it passes me by but have heard a few songs that I would listen to more of. X

New albums I'm listening to...

Gnod - Just Say No To The Psycho Right-Wing Capitalist Fascist Industrial Death Machine

Strange U - LP4080#

The gnod album is an experimental post-punk sounding record.

Strange U is a UK electro hip hop album with lots of 80's references.

Both are are great and fucking livid.

Aurora - Murders Song (hauntingly beautiful ballad)

Troyboi - Wonky (seriously funky mayhem)

You can find them both on YT. You see... people are still making great music. It's just finding it that's difficult

I have been a fan of Twin Atlantic since i first heard the Vivarium album in early 2013. Great live and they have some of the most hauntingly beautiful songs - Crashland, and Yes, I Was D*unk make me cry.

It's all subjective but think certain genres (metal, UK hiphop for example) are thriving away from the mainstream glare and in some ways the music is better than ever but yes, it needs a bit of effort to be discovered.

A lot of genres that used to produce loads of great music are just dying on their arse though.

Just checked Spotify, I didn't know the Gorillaz album was out yet, and it's got Grace Jones on it! Andromeda sounds nice

Yeah 'Mr Kill' is very good. The albums great but gets off to a slow start, first 3 tracks are arguably the weakest. After that its cracking all the way through.

The new Kendrick Lamar album is good.

I've been listening to lots of funk and soul.

Anyone got the time to check out Vulfpeck's Thrill of The Arts album on Spotify or their Dean Town video on YouTube they're worth it...

They played in London last year. Hands down the best gig I've ever been to. So much fun and they all had huge grins on their face all the way through.

You listened to Christmas in L.A. yet? =)

They're playing uk again this year but might all be sold out by now...
