"sadly we are and it is not gonna change anytime soon. but we are a lot better off than many in the world. I watched a horrid programme the other night of rogue landlords and there was this horrid man who evicted people from their flats with 24 hours notice so that he could charge more to another tenant... " Sadly that is happening all to often with so many not being able to buy houses are having to rent its big bucks for the landlords I hate renting its dead money but I am unable to buy as I just can't afford it... ![]() ![]()

"Ah Politics on a Sunday! Maybe we should start by withdrawing all our money from the banks. Then we could collectively burn all our credit cards. All of us could refuse to pay our mortgages on mass. Nope - The British public are too apathetic - and just enjoy moaning, and blaming the government. ![]() I am not blaming anyone and yes it is politics but it was just a thought as I am sat here going through my bank statements I'll be quiet from now on ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

"but don't prosecute the landlords... think it said only 2 criminal cases as the councils just don't pursue. they evicted a pregnant to another house, she was told she had no choice.. the other house was worse, further away from her friend.., was heartbreaking watching" Yes it is but the councils are now turning to private rented accommodation in their tackling homelessness stratagy as there is a lack of council housing and they are not building any new ones..

"I saw a pay day loan thing on the TV the other day... the APR was something like 4523% was well over 4000%" Now thats the stuff they should outlaw. It's a dangerous game as I have seen people who now rely on it rather than the one off loan they intially required

" yes people dont have enough money but i think thats beacuse they exspect more as standerd these days . electonic gadgets ,cars, holidays abroad ect . alot will lve past their means to get the new car rather than make do with one thats functional .how meny kids refuse anything but designer trainers and clothes and the latest mobiles ? the holiday abroad is seen as given right than a luxuary ect ect . would i love a new car and two weeks abroad ??? hell yes of course !!! am i going to get that... nope! my cars worth £300 but gets me to work ect holiday wise well have a week at a carvan site down south booked last year . have to live to the cut of your cloth as my father always said .im afraid most dont they live beyond their means using credit cards ect not for essentials but for the luxuries most now consider essential . there are those who DO live below the poverty line struggling with day to day living and the essential bills like food and electric ..now THATS not having enough money (in this country ).

" Been around long enough to see which government represents which people, their going to have to change the "ahh thats the last governments fault" thing and start playing another record." This lot have finally all but stopped doing that because a) they know nobody believes them and b) they have much bigger problems.

"I saw a pay day loan thing on the TV the other day... the APR was something like 4523% was well over 4000%" I can't believe that this is allowed (winga dot com?). The govnt took the roundabouts outa the parks but they let this go on? It really should be made illegal. There needs to be street guidlines on this lending lark, they exploit those who know not or cannot do better. It makes me sick. ![]()

MPs were looking at this by way of an amendment to Clause 11 of the Finance Bill. Mark Hoban, (the Tory) financial secretary to the Treasury, argued AGAINST capping the interest rate charged by alternative lenders, and told Parliament that the high-cost credit market provided a service for those who could not obtain credit from any other source. He said: "We should be careful about describing high-cost credit providers as legal loan sharks.......... " The Conservatives support high interest rate loans.
