little house on the praire

As some know i have bad artheritis in my knees, when it flares up the pain is so bad and i cant walk at all. Im waiting on a date(still) for an mri scan.

The doctors have given me declofex and codine for the pain and inflamation, im loosing weight and trying to be generally sensible. This weather is really bad for it. Jay has just got me some glucosamine sulphate from the health food shop, has anyone ever taken this or know of someone who has, ive read up and it seems a positive thing to take but just wondered if anyone had any first hand advice xxkarenxx

I train a bit and managed to bugger up a shoulder and knee... Now I was recommended this by Physio and to date.. works a treat.. Managing to get back to where i was.. Slow though so don't expect a fast result.

Works... thumbs up

Hi Karen,

I (heather) have fibromyalgia, painful joints and tendons, and yes glucosamine is very good, we both take a 500mg tablet a day, and it does help with the stiffnessand discomfort. tip...buy the cheap shop brand rather than all these others its the same supplement just packaged different, don't let your conditon stop you having fun, I just pull out of a session if i'm tired or in pain and join in after a rest( watching or taking the pics) hope I've been of help.take careXXH

It can take 3 months for them to get into your system and start working, so persist with them. Someone I know who could barely clench his fingers through arthritis and pain started on them, approx 3 months later its as if he'd never had a problem! No pain and he could make a tight fist for the first time in years.

But, he stopped them a short while after thinking he was now cured and the condition came back within 3 weeks. Needless to say he was straight back on them and it cleared up again never to return whilst taking one a day. Hope they work for you.
