Does anyone else get annoyed with the supposed social normality. If so what is it

For example,

Why is it seen as such a wrong thing to want to have more then one sexual partner. Now let me be clear if you find a mate for life and that's what you want its fine no judgement however somewhere along the line its been decided that to even think about having sex with someone else while with a partner is social unacceptable. Yes I know plenty of people on her do have partners and swing

but my point is We claim to be one of the smartest species however to me we try and avoid a lot of what is just natural/instinct.

folk like to imagine we're not 'annimals' any more and a thin layer of fusty and dusty civility has settled as thickly on their lives as it has on their ikea matching bedroom set

Because most people don't challenge perceptions of the norm, rather (and sadly) more often than not, they aspire to it.

it's actually more 'natural' to become infatuated with one person and then fall in love with them. we're chemically designed, for the majority, to do that.

i do think when it comes to actual norms i'm not sure what happened to make people think there was some abnormality. i do know if you look at a lot of psychsocial experiments they might have something to do with it, but i think it runs a lot deeper than this also. possibly shaming was involved (i reckon so) and someone(s) trying to structure society in a way they thought was best for it to be to function civilly?

I have a feeling that it was an effort by the Abrahamic religions to elevate the importance of men - If you look at the natural world, males are really not that important, one male can impregnate several females and therefore they compete hard for mates and are the first to be excluded/killed when they weaken.

One man to one woman is not nescessary at all for society to function.

that makes sense actually, patriarchy.

women are the carriers of children, therefore should always be more picky and in control of who they fuck as they're investing more into that child from the beginning. and making it so women have to stay with one guy, well, it ensures the survival of his genes. also, hypothetically, ensures his offspring actually carry his genes.

some species evolved so they cannot get impregnated by a male they don't want to be impregnated by. it's why ducks have corkscrew genitals, so if a male duck tries to force a female to become impregnated they can squeeze his cockscrew dick out of them to stop him. if only women had too, that way we wouldn;t have been forced to marry and be faithful, lol.

In octopuses (I think) the female allows the male to put a "packet" of his semen inside her, using one of his arms. That's all the fun he gets.

Central

It's potentially a recent trend in the history of humans, that's been supported - as mentioned - by major religious. I think we naturally played the field, the fittest sperm creating our offspring, when several guys may have shagged the same woman.
