2 of my past meets from here have just popped up on my people you may know list on facebook. We talk on whatsapp so its that right? Am i right in thinking facebook own whatsapp? I was so good i just clicked remove without doing a little facebook nosey!

Brighton - even Hove!

You DID meet them so they are on Facebook. I don't do social media for various reasons mainly that I'm off grid and don't want to be electronically connected with anyone.

If your phone number is on Facebook it comes up, or we had it when we had swinging friends on Facebook and people they'd met came up lol x

It'll be because your phone number is paired to your Facebook as is theirs probably.

It's annoying and why I don't give out my phone number.

Whatsapp is now owned by Facebook and any numbers you save are automatically listed on both.

Facebook own instagram and what's app. If you exchange numbers with anyone and your number is on your Facebook account, they will pop up.

Best to use kik. Keeps it separate.

Or take your phone number off FB.

I think it shows up if you have their number in your phone contacts and it syncs the numbers in your phone , I had a few staff at work as suggestions for people I may know and we had no mutual friends so it freaked me out a little as I couldn't work out how Facebook would know I knew them until it was explained to me

This happened to me, I quickly let the other person know.

Facebook privacy settings are rather bollocks!
