Having done both, I would say stranger. Every time I have done this with people I know it's changed the friendship. Much easier with a stranger.

I'm sure people will disagree though

Nope, totally agree with you, our very first 3some was with someone we knew, and that friendship ended, deffo best with people who are strangers.

We had our first MFM with a stranger last night after we had a social a couple of weeks ago, it was great

We wouldn't remotely consider doing it with a friend.
