Do you take compliments well?

Do you like getting compliments, or do you find it a waste of your time getting them?

Generally yes though on fab I'm a little different as they tend to be overdone as a way to get into your knickers by some guys.

I can be a little modest and don't go out of my way to get them.

I'm hopeless. I feel quite uncomfortable and blush like mad, even when I know the person genuinely means what they say (as opposed to blowing smoke up my arse)

a quandary, could you change my mind?

"Do you take compliments well?

Unfortunately I find them hard to receive, am never sure if it is for real or just lip service, could be because of other things that happen that make me doubt.

Do I like receiving, well yes if I believe that they are meant.

I don't really get complimented very often, but if i do then i just say thanks.

I doubt any of the compliments i've received on here were genuine anyway.

Since being on here I have had to get used to receiving compliments and responding with a civil yet sensible level of cynicism rather than the incredulity I used to display when receiving them. I have got better at accepting them graciously in real life when they are obviously sincere ones though.

on the rare occasions im complimented i get embarrassed, almost make excuses, which is quite rude really; bad manners not to accept a compliment graciously; i think it stems from having it drummed into me when i was young that being vain is almost criminal! on here though, i dont count them as compliments..the're just words falling out of mouths meaninglessly

I'm so bad at accepting compliments. Having been told I wasn't worth anything it's difficult learning that I am. I just get flustered and embarrassed, though I'm trying to get better x

I take compliments well off people I actually know and who have met me..

compliments from strangers on here, who can only see restricted views of my body are a bit odd...

I mean how can anyone get the whole picture of what I look like from random body pics...

It's nice to receive complements. Don't find it awkward, find it quite sweet really. Well depends on the compliment

Is it a compliment if you're being targeted and pursued on this site?

Ha ha, yes, I think that too. Especially the "hello beautiful" messages... I could have a face like a bag of spanners

Compliments are always taken gracefully and with a smile. Appreciating them costs nothing and we'll always be honest in who and how we compliment others.

Much easier to do in person without sounding cringe worthy at times, so a fine line.

I smile and say thank you if I believe its genuine. If I think its a load of old flannel aimed at getting something from me I still smile and say thank you, while thinking "you must imagine I came down with the last shower".

Quick question for the women, if someone does make a comment and you do reply but say that sorry your not interested, what percent of bloke would reply with a abusive msg?? I here it happens on here alot

I like compliments, but utterly useless at accepting them.

Usually I become uncomfortable and deflect with awkward mood-killing humour

You might find you accept them more easily as you get older. The only problem is they become more scarce

There and to the left a bit

It is of course always nice to receive them, regardless of whether that's on here or elsewhere.

Taking them and accepting them though is what I always feel awkward about, especially the how to respond bit - I either blush profusely and laugh (giving the totally wrong impression!!) or make some stupid self-deprecating remark that totally undoes the compliment that was given.

apparently it does..but not to everyone..

best thing to do to stop it happening is just don't answer

Makes sense, safest way to play it I suppose

I rarely get abuse. If someone sends a complimentary message, I usually say thanks. It's a bit like someone holding a door open, I'll say thanks but doesn't mean I want to shag them.

If they then carry on wanting to chat in the hope of meeting, then they need to make sure they've read my profile.

What he said.

I have never received many (if any) compliments in real life so I do not really know how to react and feel very uncomfortable.

I like compliments, and sometimes I feel flattered. I don't like lies though.

I compliment with honesty, it's not worth anything if it's not.

On here it goes in one ear and out the other. In real life it depends what it is....I get a lot of compliments about my kids etc but I don't get many regarding my looks

Just curious as I have given a few compliments, either about a particular photo or about the way the photo is done.

Just wondered how some people view them.

"Just curious as I have given a few compliments, either about a particular photo or about the way the photo is done.

I'm terrible at accepting compliments graciously I'm afraid as I'm both cynical and have low self confidence. However the type I'm most inclined to think well of are when people take the time to tailor them individually and/or explain why they like something about you instead of a generic 'beautiful' or 'hot'. Thoughtful comments about my photos fall into that category and it's always flattering to get those.
