FabSwingers.com forum: A year on FAB

Just realised I've been on FAB a year now, can't believe how the time has flown.

I use the site mainly for the forums at the moment which to my surprise i find addictive.

I've been asking myself what is is about these forums that has kept my interest.

The culture on here has mellowed in my opinion, it still has it's harsh moments but people are less likely to stay quiet when someone else is 'bullied'.

Some of the sharp humour is superb, I've had moments when I have actually laughed out loud.

It's well 'moded', the likes of Rugby could probably do a foreigner every Wednesday as The Speaker in Prime Ministers questions!

Diverse topics with very few 'no go' areas.

Most importantly there are some great characters on here. It's amazing how well you can get to know people based on an avatar and their written word.

Some very intelligent, some funny, some tolerant, some intolerant and some that just make you scratch your head - it's a good mix.

What is it that keeps you logging into these forums?

The forums have changed greatly since i have been here. Since sj and mark took over and everything changed the forums have calmed down so much. It was like walking into a major war zone having an earthquake everyday before.

The former mod our beloved stuy got sent to end his days in peace and harmony in the outbacks of scotland.

I log on for the same reasons as you

I love the banter & humour on here. Can't stand the look how wonderful/successful I am or the woe is me ones but it is very easy to ignore them.

On the whole, it is a very addictive place.

Concur with Polo, in that some days the forums are great fun with interesting threads and contributors.

On some days, I may not post at all as I find the threads boring/repetitive/etc...

Ive only been posting about 4 months now, I love it, yes it is addictive, but there is so many characters on here. Some days it can be boring and other days its hilarious, there's days i cringe at some of the things and other days im in fits of laughter.

Ive made some good friends through the forums, And hope to make a few more.

I too find the forums addictive.

Threads/posters that bore me I ignore. Some threads I know will turn my stomach and try as I might and can't stay out of them!

Some, like the OP are like a breath of fresh and enjoyable to read! I may not agree with some but I enjoy their postings.

The forums have definitely mellowed. Its been ages since I've seen the 'Is there a clique' threads which goes to show that fewer people are feeling disgruntled.

We joined Fab for one reason, to get laid!

However, from day one our outlook on swinging changed, and thats down to the people who inhabit the forums and chatrooms.

For me (Martin), having never really interacted over the internet before like this, the forums have been a revelation.

I have seen the best, and worst, of society, and have been educated.

I have laughed out loud, and had a lump in my throat.

I have used the forums to cheer myself up, and have a rant, and I have learned a great deal.

Now I can never visit Fab without visiting the forums, and often end up logging off late at night having never made it to the chatrooms after getting sidetracked by a particular thread.

i love the forums too . i spend a lot of time on my own .B/f works abroad and i moved away from all my family and friends a while ago tolive by the sea ...i love it but i do get a bit lonely at times ..the forums make me laugh make me sad sometimes and somedays i cant be bothered ....I am a little addicted tho ....i must get out more !! happy anniversary BS ...

can't remember the first but one of the first...

someone had likened someones pics.. or I read it that way.. to a scene from an abbatoir and I went la la.

and of course... it all got heated.. loads joined.. I had a hissy fit... shouting they are a bunch of rude bas*****, went into chat where I was a regular then and said sumit like.. 'WTF are those forum people like'..

I had no comprehension that people used the forums as a kinda chatroom and conversations between friends take place similar to chat..

I got banned

I think for 24 hours.

Yes thats the one! A friend of mine had posted something similar about types of guys and you posted that partly in response by giving the male perspective. I think my first posting was in response to yours!!
