I've always soldered mine. But someone told me that I should use crimp connectors instead as solder can fracture with the vibration.

I wouldn't use crimp connectors.

Clean the bare wire ,solder the joint and cover with heat shrink.

Make sure the wiring loom is routed correctly first and not too tight and is clipped into all securing clips.

If you have soldered the joints well you won't have anymore problems.
