There are so many to supermarkets to choose from to get your food but who really does give value for money ???.

Who does look after their customers.

Who is the worst supermarket.

Who and where do you shop.

Would you buy supermarkets own brand.

Who do you think is really coming up in the market place to take on the big boys.

There's no one stop shop really, The old adage about shopping around is generally true. Certain supermarkets offer some things at a lower price while clawing back the discount in another way be inflating costs elsewhere.

Mix and match.

I have no loyalty, I shop in whatever one is most convenient at the time! I always get deliveries from Sainsbury's though as there's a girl who does them and shes gorgeous!

Online ordering its a toss up between Iceland and Asda with Asda pipping it through choice.

Worst online ordering are Morrisons. Cancelled our order twice as they wanted more money in case of substitutes. Never had that with the others.

I shop there from choice over my other most local (Morrison's, Asda).

Much better value, and in many cases quality. I go to Morrison's for my Tonic ( can't compromise on a G&T)!

Can't abide Asda, always seems poor quality and the our nearest one the clientele annoy me immensely.

I actually like Aldi and Lidl. Getting stuff from Tesco and Sainsbury's, like meat and fresh fish, when it's marked down is great but overall since I've bought fresher I've preferred Aldi and Lidl for my bulk shops

I love Asda! But I use the MySupermarket

app which tells you which shop is the cheapest for everything you can think of! So if the more expensive things are cheaper elsewhere, ill grab those from the cheapest place x

I do my main shop at Aldi, you can't beat their prices, their fresh fruit and veg is great these days. Best thing for me is I can do it door to door in 45 mins, I can't stand supermarkets. M&S for a treat now and then

asda for all monthly big shop...waitrose sometimes because its nearest,but their fruit and veg is shit and over priced,so usually greengrocer locally for that..travelling around all day so go in lots of other ones daily too.

Lidl and Aldi have really got their act together now gone are the days of stuff being stacked on pallets and you had to break boxes open to get stuff, its all presented well now and their food is second to none.

Once in a while i treat myself to marks and spencer food, it really is wholesome and tasty with first class ingrediants but the price ????? i suppose there is a saying you get what you pay for.

Some one previous has said shoping around is a good thing and they may be right but the fuel you use might not make it cost effective.

I use Morrisons and sainsburys mainly as i prefer them to tesco which is closer. Asdas a good 20 minute drive but i do like looking at the clothes in there.

As for own brands ill get some things but not others cereals being the main one they just dont compare

I check prices and don't just use one shop. I dislike the huge buildings that Tesco etc built as the experience is degraded and so prefer smaller stores.

Generally it's good to shop where the staff are well looked after - it shows.

I generally get most of ma stuff from Tesco, but pop into Sainsbury's for some things that Tesco doesn't stock. I go to the Market Hall for ma meat, fish and veg, then to Farm Foods for ma frozen stuff.

I generally cook all ma own stuff from scratch, but if I can't be arsed and fancy a ready meal, I'll pick something up from M&S

Will occasionally go to Lidl, but although they have 6 checkouts, there's generally only 2 of them operating so I don't go there very often .

Everyone we've spoken to can't do a full shop at Aldi. In our book, it's about shopping wisely. Burning any savings in fuel and wasting time queuing in many shops is not wise. We pick one supermarket and do the shop.

Remember, there's a reason why a Lada is cheaper than a Porsche.

asda most things own branded items only tho

lidl aldi few items only, as some products are terrible

few items costco kirkland branded too

usually shop in asda even tho is furthest away

hence why when i go shopping i might by 10-20 of one item, so normally i only go shopping for fresh items otherwise no need to go shopping

my garage is like a supermarket racking all the way around full of shopping goods

Go with a menu to Morrisons or Asda and you can shop cheap. Look for reduced stuff that you can freeze.

Just been to Morrisons, large pack of Twix reduced as best before date is tomorrow, they're great to eat frozen. Probably at a cheaper price than Aldi's version of twix.

Friends kept harping on on how cheap Aldi's little tubs of nuts were cheaper than Asda. If you're into nut fragments and less waste to save 7p, go for it.

Like we've said, with the price of fuel, you're daft driving about to save peanuts.

There is a middleground as Ford are the most popular car in the UK, otherwise we would all be shopping at Waitrose.

i do go elsewhere if i know somethng i cheap but the 3 i use - 2 are literally next to each and one over the road and a mile away from home - it works best for me - i only buy basics cant afford treats like nuts

yes this would be good. We use to use Tesco but now Aldi save around £100 a week. meet and veg and fruit way better than Asda Tesco Sainsbury's.

I found that at Aldi i couldnt do a full weeks shop because they simply dont have much choice and we ended up having to go Tesco aswell which wastes our time. Plus i didnt find the food was very nice.

They do sell some lovely small choc bars that have a yogurt filling which we do like.

Even as a family of four we never even spent £400 on food a month!!

If we do a big shop, I mean BIG... to fill the freezer, fridge, and cupboards, and especially if it was in the runup to Xmas, I suppose we might then, but our average monthly spend is around maybe £200.

We shop at Aldis, Farmfoods, and Morrisons.

I find Fortnum and Mason are best. Their baluga caviar, foi gras and quail are second to none. Do sometimes have to pre-order the 73 Bollinger tho as it's sometimes in short stock.

That or I pop down to the local Aldi!

It's beluga, not baluga. Fois gras, not foi gras. Neither do F&M stock 1973 Bollinger. It is now generally too old and will be out of condition and poor or undrinkable.

A mix of Lidl, Sainsburys and Tesco. A new Aldi is opening soon so that will get added to the list. On the rare occasion I may use Waitrose or M&S but they are too pricey for everyday shopping.

I was shocked at how good the quality of Lidl's products is.
