"Theres an article in the BBC about people lying about what books they've read. The list of the most popular to lie about is below. Im kind of surprised what is on the list. James Bond books, Ian Fleming Lord of the Rings, JRR Tolkien The Chronicles of Narnia, CS Lewis The Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins Trainspotting, Irvine Welsh The Wizard of Oz, L Frank Baum Bridget Jones's Diary, Helen Fielding The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Stieg Larsson The Godfather, Mario Puzo One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Ken Kesey Gone Girl, Gillian Flynn The Kite Runner, Khaled Hosseini I'm an avid reader, but have only read a couple of the James Bond books (found them dull). Da Vinci code (to see what the fuss was about) and Lord of the Rings ( loved it, but would never re read it) What ones have you read?... honestly!" Yeah there's a couple on there I'd rather lie and say I've not read...

Never fancied reading James Bond though I love a good thriller they just seem lightweight. Lots of those the blurb just doesn't grab me so pass them by.

"These are all film books. I'm wondering if people conflate that as they've seen the film, even though sometimes they're not remotely connected." Ben Hur was a great book. Spartacus was a page turner as well

"Only a couple of titles in that list I've read; the others are "fluff" and not the sort of literature I'd choose to read. This list is more representative of good fiction: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/books/what-to-read/100-novels-everyone-should-read/" I prefer to decide for myself what I "should" read

I have read: Lord of the Rings The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (full trilogy and have the the extra one when I decide to give it a try) The Chronicles of Narnia (as an adult) The Hunger Games (last book was a disappointment, as was the film) The Da Vinci Code. I simply read whatever interests me at the time. Nita
