When we do it, why?

Do you have? a reward system. If i loose weight i get to buy a nice underwear garment.

I want to ride my young horse, and he hasn't grown up to be a big lad...

And i want to be as sexy as possible for me

I'm currently doing it, because I want to be fitter, faster and more agile for boxing/karate/kickboxing. Also to try and get a beach bod for my hols next month.

My motivation is threefold.

The obvious health benefits.

There's an exciting incentive for me to hit a target weight.

A cheaper food bill.

•+• Access Denied •+•

my life was definitely affected by being obese. i was struggling to walk and one day my boyfriend had to help me get out of a chair, i was too fat for my body to do it myself. i was 16 and a half stone at that time and unpleasantly surprised when i found out.

i actually did it the wrong way and starved myself by not eating for 4 months and this worked, i got my mobility back fairly quickly and that was all i wanted.

put on 2 stone within a fortnight of eating again. but again i cut down on food and have lost 5 stone overall the next couple of years, but the best bit is it's stayed of for over 10 years. i was actually heavier than this, at 12 stone, for most of my years as a parent.

i'm working on strengthening my body as it needs that now. so weight is going on, kind of, but it's coming off too. as muscle is building my weight hasn't fluctuated for several weeks. my pants are really big now and that's funny. actually just threw out some old clothes and was surprised how big they seem compared to before i went on this latest health kick. they def don't fit and my hips won't even hold them on.

only thing is i don't like how i lie on my side in bed and my bones annoy me, there's no padding around some of them and i'm not skinny, just i can feel bones digging into me. dunno what it'll be like when i do more intense training and get thinner.

That's amazing! You should be doing your own slimming class you're a perfect example of how to do it

Hopefully, my knees will last longer.

I should be able to move about more-not felt much benefit yet, but it's only 2 stones gone, so far.

More choice in clothing.

Shouldn't get diabetes and my cholesterol should stay low.

Less chance of developing breast cancer.

I can squeeze through small gaps easily.

I've lost 2 Stone since I joined fab. I didn't do it just because of fab but having your body actually appreciated by someone was a big motivator.

I don't think I would have done it just for myself, I needed something else. Now I've booked a holiday I'm having another push to get beach ready

There and to the left a bit

For years (probably 15-20 of them) I was grossly overweight and didn't really care, or acknowledge that I was...then almost two years ago I went to buy a shirt, tried the L which wouldn't come close to doing up, tried the XL and althpugh I could do it up, it was incredibly tight.

That was the kick up the backside I needed, as I refused to go to an XXL - drastically cut back on what and how much I ate, and now I'm three and a half stone lighter and feel so much better about myself, not to mention not looking like the worlds first pregnant man!!

Being fat was a risk to my health and my lifespan.

I didn't want any chance that my daughter would have to be without her dad.

Also, I wanted to improve my running and losing weight was one thing I could do

I'm 43 and currently a sixe 6 in next clothes, I weigh 7 stone but would love a toned stomach as that is my problem area, guess I either need to accept it or hit the gym hard, neither is an enjoyable prospect

Sorry I should have stated I don't need or want to loose weight, I lost 1/2 stone due to a peptic ulcer last year and not able to put it back on, but just wanted to point out that we all have areas we want to improve on if possible

I.lost 4.5 stone by riding my bike to work everyday 20 miles but since changing jobs put it back. Now I want to lose it all again so my fat arse doesn't stop my sub getting her dream girl be it at a club or otherwise. I feel that me being big puts off people who would like to play with her but not us as a couple! By all means I'd let her fly solo in a club but she wants us both to experience it! She's a keeper!

Gaining weight can be just as much of a struggle. Pretty much everyone has some issues, no matter what their size. Hope you find what makes you happy.

I agree

My motivation is more fitness driven the older I'm becoming then being say a size 12. However, I do like how my clothes feel / look now so that's an added benefit.
