I'm not that type of person.

I'm sure most of us have a preconceived idea of how we portray ourselves and how we are seen by others.

But have you ever been surprised to get feedback? How do you think you portray yourself and have you ever been told to the contrary?

I always think I'm friendly and approachable, but I was told I can be scary and intimidating You?

I have the opposite problem. I think sometimes I can be harsh and close to the bone with my comments and sense of humour but people think Im a nice friendly girl!

At work if Im in a bad mood I have to actually tell people as Im still bubbly on the outside!

Mr tells me I'm naive and too friendly and nice. I think it's part of who I am. I don't look for confrontation but will defend myself and loved ones. I'm honest but not harsh. X

No feedback surprises me, however I often learn more about the person giving it than I do about myself.

I present many faces to the world so it depends on which face(s) others see, what they might make of me.

There and to the left a bit

I have no idea how I come across but I try to present myself as the person I am off line and that's thoughtful, considerate, self-deprecating and friendly albeit a bit aloof until I know someone.

I've spent my entire adult life being the quiet, pudgy, nothing to write home about girl who is comfortable in my own company and pretty shy with others until I know them. I still feel like that but apparently others now disagree.

If we're always guided by other people's thoughts what's the point in having your own? Oscar Wilde.

I prefer OW's quote "Beauty is the only thing that time cannot harm" - that that would have been a much better first message ... just a thought

i was surprised someone bothered to tell me i'm an ignorant bitch. i already knew that.

don't think anyone has told me i'm something i'm not. been surprised at the amount of men who don't like heavily tattoed women but approached me for sex so i guess i'm not that heavily tattooed or they need better eyesight.

I use to be very self conscious about other people's perception of me. I'm at that point in my life where I look back and think ,"what was that all about"

I'm all grown up now, I know I will never be a playboy millionaire porn star space captain......... well maybe there is hope?

Maybe that's a good thing. But maybe you should reflect?

We're all who we are as the saying goes, but some of us need to realise that we are who we choose to become? Not aimed at you of course! But some people use that expression as an excuse for poor behaviour?

People are always suprised by how shy i am.

Not sure why, i do pre-warn them.

I'm sure i come across as a cold hearted bitch on here, but i am actually quite nice. Deep, deep, deep down.

I am a loner and my social skills aren't very well tuned so that doesn't help.

Cold hearted bitch? err not trying to be the sycophantic male because I'm just down the road but yet to see that? Another example of misconception?

Some feedback is good, but some people try to mould you to how they think you should be. I once had a boss who told me everything I think shows on my face, and I should try to remain impassive at times. Sorry that isn't me acting like some kind of robot. So I just carried on being me and no one has ever said that it's an issue for them since.
