Now that the good weather's beginning is anyone planning any days/ nights out in the great outdoors. I'm thinking Ridgeway/ South Downs are beckoning....

The Purbecks are great for walking, although Studland can be a bit of a distraction Both Moel Famau and Snowdon are fun - has anyone tried Tryfan? Perhaps we should try and organise a Fab jaunt, and see if we can complete it without any distractions...LOL!

I've done all three Welsh ones. Helps living not too far away.

Throw your etrex away , and use a 1 25000 os and a quality compass

I have genuinely lost count of the number of mountain rescues I have assisted with , where the hapless party are lost due to no map , a Sat nav and no idea x

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I'm just back from a week in Salcombe where we did a lot of walking, which toned up my bum excellently.

I was supposed to be off to Swingfields for camping this year, but that's been postponed.

Camping is great fun too, I'm hardy

Did you go to the Colomendy ?

Loggerheads and Moel Famau are part of my regular trail runs

You should go to the Colomendy Arms for the best pint in the Clwydians

I prefer Siabod, as it's not as busy on that side of the road

Always good to pop in to the Bryn Tyrch afterwards

A bit further south is another favourite of Cadair Idris.

More chance for a spot of wild camping on the Dovey or Mawddach

You should try geocaching. Etrex 10 is good for starters, although a 20 is better as it has maps.

Just spent a few days over Easter camping in Kettering. Woke up to ground frost and a frozen tent on Wednesday. We still enjoyed the break though.

West Wales and Cardiff

I love mountain walking and camping so much.

I genuinely think I'm at my happiest then - it's great for the soul and spirit.

I love the Beacons and the Lakes, but Snowdonia is my number one. I found a wonderful campsite in the south of the national park a couple of years ago and go there as much as possible.

It amazes me how many South Walians (like me) have never been there.

I love the solitude of mountain walking. The occasional bit of company would be nice though

*cough*
