Moving into a two bedroom flat soon, finally going to have a proper home of my own for me and my boys (on weekends).

I'm quite good at copying art and I enjoy painting. The boys room is a doddle - fill it with videogame characters and I'm done.

My bedroom and rest of the flat on the other hand? I want it to look nice for any female visitors i get..

So ladies and gents.. Any suggestions? Do I go boring and adult? Or do I go full on creative?

Ideas on a postcard please.

I'm doing up my home currently and it's neutral colours (they don't date and look clean!) with copper accessories and fishermen pendants and exposed brickwork and plants and my instruments. Plants are always good. And decent curtains. But I think my taste is really quite dull.

I've yet to have my fanny dry up because of a man's colour scheme so don't worry too much about it. If you enjoy painting, why not do a couple of canvases for the living room?

Creative! Its your space and should reflect you.

I bought my own place for the first time last year and I decided I would handmade and upcycle as much as I could. Its been hard work but I love that no one will have a flat similar to mine. I spent too long in rented flats full of IKEA furniture!

I happened to stumble across a site called arthouse recently that has some fab wallpaper from British designers. They seemed a step away from magnolia and more usual trends.

Full on creative would be a collage of all the things I love covering every wall space.

But I'm worried it'll be over the top.

Fuck it.. I can always paint over it if it's pants.

use blu tack first to tack stuff on and if you like it then glue/paste it on?

I'm a part time painter and decorator. Feature walls are quite popular and so are papered feature walls. Depends a lot on budget but you don't have to spend a fortune if you are creative (Vinyls/Wall display pieces) A lot of customers are often unsure about what colours and I just show examples of previous jobs. It's so funny if it's a couple they usually argue over the colour but from experience the lady is boss when it comes to interior design
