What are your honest opinions on them?

For me it varies day to day.. somedays they are chilled out and fun, sometimes the love ins take over, other days its all serious and political. Rants occour most days. I like the variety and its what makes me keep returning to them.

I adore them.. when they do my tits in.. I log off.

I participate for fun... nothing else. I do not need any part of me stroked on here especially my ego. I have plenty of self respect and don"t need the forums for that.

I like the banter, the spats amuse me, I enjoy some of the informative stuff, the music memories really touch me, people wanting advice and thanking for any given... all in all.... love it.

when I don't, I take a break.

my life is for living..... not swinging.

Apart from the 'would you' threads I find the forums great fun on the whole. I do enjoy a good debate (emphasis on the word 'good' there) and I really enjoy locking horns with people who can get their point of _iew across without being personal. I also enjoy the nonsense threads that start off about something completely unrelated to sex but almost always degenerate into tits, cock, pussy, ass threads.

North of The Wall - youll need your vest

I read the forums regularly and post now and then when I feel the urge.

Somedays they really make me laugh and I carry on reading, other days they irritate me and I dont bother.

There are people that I would love to meet just because of their posts, and others that I would avoid like the plague.

I personally dont like the 'would you' threads so I just ignore those. I really enjoy some of the serious threads unless they turn into a pissing contest - I love listening to peoples _iews on things.

All Human Life is here - and thats what makes them interesting...

One thing i strongly don't like is that when one thread turns a bit sour and everyone jumps in on the band wagon making the OP feel bad. Naturally people will have different _iews but its almost like others end up mocking those for having different _iews and belittling them.

Ive started threads where i often wish i could have the thread removed because i just end up feeling awkward, even if i have 'surrendered' and perhaps admitting i was wrong, or my opinions on a subject have changed i still get made to feel like a small child and get 'spoken' down too.

the jokes then get continued in other threads and still makes a person feel shit. No one is perfect, but others enjoy making jokes at peoples expense

I used to knock about with a group of lads in my 20s and we had one rule: we take the piss out of everyone eventually, and all join in, if it's your turn one week and you get arsey about it - you're out.

We all knew the rule and it kept things light-hearted all the time. We all knew nobody meant any malice with it and they never relented for the whole drinking session sometimes, but on reflectiuon, it was enormous good sport and it cemented the group. We're still friends now although we've scattered across the country.

Consider it social acceptance when someone feels comfortable enough with you to take the piss knowing you won't react badly. It's a compliment really, if you think about it.

For me, it's the variety of subject matters, posters, how things are said, and who says them.

Some people on here have wicked senses of humour; I often end up helpless with laughter at some of the comments.

Others often lose the plot completely; they get so riled up that their _iews aren't being approved by others as the sole and only opinion that matters.

I often spend too much time on here, especially late at night.

Do without them??? No way. But, I do think the "why am I not getting any meets" or "what am I doing wrong" threads get too much. Maybe, all "newbies" must _iew a variety of past Forum pages to see what problems can crop up, and know how to deal with them; this would be mandatory before being let loose on the site!!

Maybe some aren't taking the piss? Offering a different _iew, pointing out inconsistencies, inaccuracies, lifes experiences? Having the temerity to offer a different _iew? Why is this taking the piss?

Would the forums be better if say, on a contentious thread, all the replies stated "yes dear"?

There are serious threads, maybe more so in swingers chat than lounge, political and economic debate, fun threads which catch on, utterly frivolous threads ( i should know), informative etc etc.

Enough for everyone to find something?

Unless you've changed Wishy you've often posted in a manner that the OP's post thread merited.

One of the best of recent times was Kingslynnlad, stood his ground, well over 100 posts in short time, those partaking including the OP loved it.

I think taking the piss is subjective, it's how the recipient feels about what's been said. Someone may feel they're taking the piss out of someone but it can be interpreted by the recipient differently. I've done it myself before and when I've realised that the recipient hadn't taken it in the manner intended I've quickly apologised via pm.

I too have been guilty of this, perhaps in an attempt to come over funny and join in with others i really offended someone and felt awful..

sometimes i type things and they sound fine in my head but people interprate it or read it in a different tone to how i meant it to come across

I love the forums for varies reasons. Its a cross section of life. So many different topics, some great ones, some pathetic, some annoying and some down right hilerious.

Funny as hell when people start taking the piss with each other, sometimes you try to put a serious thread up and think fuck dont i ever learn cause it results in madness and myhem.

Everyone of us on here has had the piss taken out of, been hauled over the coals for different things. Its how you let it affect is up to you. Very rarely do i think about a post or a thread once ive walked away to do something else.

Ive learnt alot on here, realized how transparent some are, how needy some are, how lovely some are and how downright fucking cuckoo some are.

Ive met many from the forums but there are also those that ive never met that i feel as though i have as i know them so well.

A forum is where a cross section of people come together to post in one thread.

I come on every day and read through, but only post every now and then. Days like today though, I have posted about ten times so far as I am home...

I do feel bad (as has been said by others) if I realise that someone is really upset by something I posted. OK, I do feel that they should grow balls, but it is never my intention to hurt.

This place is full of crap and good stuff! I dislike the "would you" threads and the Good morning threads, but I can avoid them and most of the rest is worthy

i agree to a certain extent however its an open forum and people can choose what to participate in.

jut like people who start serious threads asking for genuine advise and it ends up being just a social conversation between a few members.. but thats the forums.

Can I ask why you think trivia threads shouldn't be allowed?

Some people might think any threads you start are trivial, but I am sure you wouldn't want them removing just because someone didn't like them?

I find it interesting, if not amusing, those people who only occasionally appear,in the middle of a thread to criticise that thread. Let them start their own, it's free. They never seem to do so.

Many people scoff and mock the would you/suck/fuck/kiss/kick/ threads.

But for those new to forum posting, it's sometimes an easy way to dip your toe in the oft times turbulent waters here, and get accustomed to dipping in and out with what are usually innocuous subjects. xxx

If we all agreed it would be so bloody boring who would bother reading it? I don't like people inferring that you are in need of education if you do not share their _iews as I find this rather arrogant and close minded. They won't learn much but nevertheless ignorance is also a right I guess. if a thread doesn't interest me or I find it offensive I just click off of it. Easy.

I find it interesting, if not amusing, those people who only occasionally appear,in the middle of a thread to criticise that thread. Let them start their own, it's free. They never seem to do so.

"

Who has criticised? I haven't. I just gave my _iew.

I didn't read that post as aimed at you. I thought your point was quite valid.

I love the forums. I am quite passionate and certainly not a fence sitter. I can't see the point in non committal, the whole point of forums for me is to contribute and I'd never fall in with the crowd if I had a different _iewpoint.

I used to dislike the would you threads and the whimsical ones, but Soapy made a great point once in that some people want a bit of silliness and that's how they relax, so I think its great we have something for everyone.

What I do dislike is the quoting articles off the net threads in an attempt to outdo people, "my quote taken from the guardian is better than your quote from The Sun". You just end up with pages of wikipedia which I really cannot be arsed to read. If your gonna debate use your own words not someone elses

I just hate the 'Look at me look at meeeeeeee' crowd.

And the ones who feel the need to post about 20 threads per day on their every thought/bowel movement/meal/etc on here. 'Oh hai guyz, I just ate a grape lol' And? Shut up. Hence I check out the Swingers Forum more.

But I do enjoy the thought-provoking threads. For every piece of drivel that is posted, there is a good chunky debate which I like.

Minus the people who can't grasp that, God forbid, people have different _iews, they're normally very interesting and diverse reads!

This exemplifies the whole issue.

My post was in general. I hadn't a clue Lilmiss had posted on this thread.

Her point is extremely valid. She uses the forums for her needs. Hers, not anyone else's. I never said she had criticised.

But, the operative word is "I". Too many people read a comment, whether pulling down another quote or not , and only read that as a personal affront to them and them only.

If, for example, someone starts a thread about small brained, small dicked Yorkshiremen, i don't steam in there and shout how offended and upset i am and demand posts and posters are removed? Why should i? I may paost a _iew, an opinion.

And at the end of the day, if not before, the threads have moved on, any post disappears to the next page and is effectively forgotten about.

"

Consider it social acceptance when someone feels comfortable enough with you to take the piss knowing you won't react badly. It's a compliment really, if you think about it. "

I'd have to disagree with you there Wishy: some people are sly and downright nasty and are NOT being complimentary.

Some people are so frustrated it's disturbing. I made an innocuous comment on a thread the other day and the vitriolic diatribe that followed didn't make sense: I wasn't even referring to his post! I altered my response as I realised he wasn't all there: he did apologise, but it just goes to show!

People will disagree, those that act like victims are equally as annoying to me as those that belittle others!

....and there are those that are quite capable of both.... thankfully a minority!

"Many people scoff and mock the would you/suck/fuck/kiss/kick/ threads.

But for those new to forum posting, it's sometimes an easy way to dip your toe in the oft times turbulent waters here, and get accustomed to dipping in and out with what are usually innocuous subjects. xxx"

certainly a lot of dipping comments in your post laine,is it a new thread ,"would you dip into the person above"

O o O oo

Ok, maybe time to shut this now, as it just looks like a platform to have a pop at others.

Don't take the forums too seriously and you won't go far wrong.

Have fun
