CTRL+wheel or = and - change ur screen _iew (great for zooming in on avatars lol)

and just this minute pressed my wheel in over a forum name and hey presto new page and their profile.

i know a few ones...but these ones were accidents lol- any other good quick keyboard tips???

Here's a good one:

Type into Google:

"define: word"

Google will provide a definition of any word on the fly.

You can also use Google to convert currencies, I use it all time, it's like this:

"100 us dollars in euros"

Another thing you can do is get the time in different countries, handy if you're travelling, want to talk on Skype etc

"time in Sydney"

If like me, you can't tell you 1000000000000000 from your 10000000000000000, then you can do this:

"1000000000 in words"

And of course you can use google as a calculator, even for sophisticated calculation. e.g.

sqrt (2 + 4 / 5 * 17)^4

There's lots lots more you can do with Google than just searching.

You used to be able to use Google as a proxy server too. Just _iew a webpage through language translator in English to English translation. The server only would see Google, not your ip address.

Lastly, if you want to save images from your web browser, but the website doesn't let you, just go to options in Firefox, (_iew-preferences) and turn off javascript. Then you can download them without being prevented by the website.

I could go on and on and on.

Oh, and not everyone knows about the window picker.

It's simple:

Press Alt (the leftmost one) and hold it.

Now press the Tab key. It brings up a lovely dynamic window manager, very fluid way of choosing windows and other stuff.

Continue pressing Tab to cycle through the different windows you have open.

Lastly (I promise!), albeit it's a bit obvious for the savvy, you can search for somebody else's posts on this forum. This functionality isn't provided by the site directly, but just do this:

http://www.fabswingers.com/forum-poster/USER_NAME_HERE

e.g. you could put "adarkhorse" in place of "USER_NAME_HERE" if you were stalking me etc.

So; copypasta into the address bar and see.

Zoom in page: CTRL +

Zoom out page: CTRL -

reset Zoom:CTRL 0

Open link in new tab: Middle mouse click (or click wheel) on link

Open file explorer: Windows Key + E

Minimise everything to show desktop: Windows Key + D

[press again to restore everything]

hit the space bar it scrolls down the page.

Alt+F4 to close out the current window.

X = cut

C = copy

V = paste
