It being the season of chocolate eggs/ Easter, I'm curious ;as most grew up with it as a staple, readily available chocolate - do many of you still buy cadbury ?

Many reports of late by loyal but unsatisfied cadbury customers talk of new inferior recipes that impact upon quality and taste since the acquisition by Kraft/ mondelez.

If you still like cadbury, why?

If not, why not?

Personally don't eat chocolate that frequently but when i do i like a rich , indulgent chocolate hit so that discounts cadbury as a viable option as most of their offerings seen to be fatty confection with very faint chocolate flavour but overwhelming sweetness.

What are your preferences? Ha!

Brighton - even Hove!

I used to like Cadburys but I think my sense of taste has developed insofar as I like smaller batch handmade chocolate from small shops type places.

Montezumas chocolate nuts are delicious! Not eaten cadburys for years - just not the same since they sold out to Mondelez International - it tastes cheap and sweet.

I love chocolate but can't stomach Cadbury now ... the 'mouth feel' when it melts is completely different to how it used to be. It used to have a texture to it, now it's just slimy and oily. It used to taste of cocoa, now it's tasteless, just an overly sweet nothingness with an unpleasant after taste (you can tell I've resentfully thought about this a lot). Dairy Milk used to be my favourite but it's foul now ... though on a recent trip to Dublin the Cadbury chocolate over there seemed to taste far closer to the way I remember it, and I might have bought rather a lot back with me.

If it's good quality chocolate with a decent amount of Coco solids and its made with Coco butter (not palm oil fat or a similar cheap vegetable oil)it's good for you!

selenium, flavonoids, mood enhancing theobromine and some caffeine.. give into temptation i say .

I love Choccywockydoodah. I'm ridiculously excited that 2 of the 3 conferences I have to attend this year are in Brighton, so I can go. I love their hot chocolate. I always bring a bar (or 3) home with me.

They were recently taken over by Ferrero (the makers of "nutella").

Unfortunately since the take over they seem to have scaled back on their chocolate ranges opting to stick with popular customer favorites only and as for the quality of the products ; especially regarding their chocolate bars - mediocre mass produced taste, not worth paying a premium for.

I've never been a fan of Cadbury chocolate. If we're talking cheap end chocolate then galaxy has always been appetite superior. I prefer dark chocolate though. Green and blacks for me

I buy Cadbury because I find i can gorge on it.

Other chocolates are to rich for me to a achieve dangerous levels of chocolate intake before i feel sick.

Eg. I buy the gf hotel chocolate and am done after 3 or 4.

child slavery and stuff like that is not humanitarian so they had to cut costs other ways.

i don't really eat chocolate anyway but would still buy cadburys probably. all chocolate is just unnecessary 'nutrients' and shouldn't really be a part of anyones diet unless they're going into hypo.

Making my mouth water. I prefer the higher cocoa solids of alternatives like hotel choc. But despite my attempts to convert the kids they demand the high sugar of dairy milk. I still steal it from them anyway

I'm a bit weird.

I love proper dark chocolate...like 70% cocoa solids (greens is good...but some supermarket own brands are surprisingly good too).

I also love white chocolate......!

Milk chocolate does nothing for me....other than perhaps as chips in cookies.....

Yes , sadly. They used to sell one of my favorites - a rose flavoured dark chocolate made with very potently chocolatey Ecuadorian beans. Sigh!

It's a pity that Cadburys deteriorated as it has been my favourite. American chocolate generally is the stuff I detest, so Cadburys is still better than that - in my other life over there I really miss British chocolate.

Does anyone know what they've actually done to it?
