Are obscured faces a turn off

Hi Everyone,

I've just been considering putting a face pic on my profile but, I'm turned off by the possibility of automated harvesting and recognition from social media; I don't think anyone would bother to do it manually.

Because of this I've made a half-face pic with some noise, but I think that might seem paranoid and put people of more than no public face pic.

Any thoughts?

I/we wouldn't have public face pics and never judge others for not.

Ps you're hot!

I would always advise against a public face picture. You can always attach one to a message and if you're a site supporter tick the box to remove it after its read.

A partially obscured face picture is not much use really.

i personally think it's better to crop your head off pics than to blur them out.

I'd prefer no face pic to a blurred one. The whole point of a face pic is to see what you look like.

I'm reluctant similarly op, not wanting full facial and other stuff in the wrong hands - I prevent anyone sharing my pics on fbook, for example.

I think it's feasible to partially obscure some of your photo, whilst viewers can still determine your aesthetic appeal. I suggest that you try it and to see how the response is. It's good to generally experiment with ideas on your profile.

Thanks everyone for the feedback and comments.

I'll try it for a while and maybe take it off later.

To me face is not important because I understand the need for privacy and confidentiality but the torso pic is important as that is how I make my decision upon meeting or not.

I show my face because I don't cross dress out of Fabswingers.
