hiding from cock pics.

Please could you advise me on the best budget laptop for a teenager, mostly it's for social media homework and playing music from, she doesn't need it to have a massive memory.

Budget is around £300 or less...

She particularly likes Mac books but of course that is not going to happen at this kind of budget.

Thank you

HP are good, just make sure it has either 4 or 8gb of ram on otherwise it will be slow as hell to work! Intel i3 or i5 is a decent processor too for a budget and comes on a lot of HP's x

Curry's have Windows 10 "hp stream" laptops on sale ATM for around £180, no optical drive (CD/DVD) and around 32GB internal HD. The stream range seems geared primarily toward those who intend to use it for social media , online purchases, media consumption (YouTube, Netflix, iPlayer )and word processing.

The he capacity can easily be expanded with a memory stick or external HD if need be.

It also comes with a years free access to Microsoft 360, so especially good for students.

Have a look at chromebooks. They are pretty much like a laptop but made more for students so are a bit cheaper. I had one awhile ago and I got on really well with it x

Go into Currys/PC World and ask their advice. They're allowed to give extra discounts too or throw things in so don't be afraid to ask!

According to HUKD, HP Streams are rubbish! Better to steer clear!

Hard drives are disk drives that effectively spin like a CD, these run at either 7200 or 5400rpm and are slow.

If you spend £200 on a laptop it is more than worth spending another £70 on a SSD (solid state drive), these are similar to USB flash drives where access to data is pretty much instant. Take the pc to a computer shop with the backup disks and ask them to ghost/copy the operating system to the SSD. It'll cost £30-40 and you'll wonder why you've been waiting all this time. Samsung EVO 850 are the best all round SSD's a laptop cooler is also useful just to stop dust/overheating.
