When I win the euromillions tonight the first thing on my list is a live in personal trainer and chef. With the money I'll have they'd have to look like Ty Penninghton or Daniel Craig...not that I'm shallow or anything!

I find cycling works for me,its low impact ,and you are out in the fresh air.you are fairly local to me ,so we have a great selection of country parks,Stratford on our doorstep and thats really bike friendly!or maybe start off walking ,we have an amazing choice round here.

i prefer exercise classes at the gym. this pushes me harder, and makes it fun, motivational and competitive as opposed to an exercise buddy. what if that buddy can't make it, or can't be bothered? no two people have the same drive/enthusiasm.

i was sat waiting for a class to start a few weeks ago and overhead the personal trainers talking between themselves about their financial targets and it kind of put me off.

i have been going to the gym for years and at times can't be bothered. i find it easier to go straight after work as its on my way home. mornings are impossible as i have a long commute to work.

i need to find something else to try to motivate me at the mo and have been thinking of belly dancing or street dancing. used to do burlesque a few years ago.

the main thing is enjoy what you do. i can't swim or ride a bike so they're out of the question.

People have suggested walking, cycling, classes. And therein lies your answer. It is supposed to be fun so find a type of exercise (other than the obvious) that you enjoy. And then the motivation will be much easier to find.

Gym's are depressing places (to a degree at least) and you live in a beautiful part of the country. If you struggle going to the gym try something out doors. And remember for weightloss and general health training isn;t necessarily about pain. Walking a few times a week can make a massive difference.

Personal trainers are great at motivating you to do indoor or outdoor activities at 6 am - a super way to start the day if you are serious about getting in shape quickly. Expensive, mind you but very efficient. I d say variety in exercise is a good way indoor, outdoor and also adding protein (egt protein shakes) in favour of too many carbs can really help - but hey, most people swear by one thing or another ..Anyway, dont worry bout it while on holidays now.

Personally I've seen 3 trainers and wouldn't see another. They are expensive and I don't consider them value for money at all.

The motivation has to come from within so find something you enjoy and it wont be a chore.

A trainer can only go so far towards providing motivation as if they bollock you all the time you aren't going to come back.

Only my own experience but you need to be your own motivator. The last guy I saw couldn't get excited for £40 an hour so you have to do it yourself.

Just get off yer arse and do a load of different exercises, walking, skipping, cycling whatever, find one or two you enjoy and do it often.

A few hubdred yards 3 or 4 times a day. Park at the far corner at the Supermarket. Little things add up.

Sexercise is the best , hence why its taking me ages to lose it.

As a fitness instructor for the last 25 years, I've always refused to become a personal trainer.

That's not to say that I haven't prepared people for competitions but that was for free not as a job.

The bottom line is that you have to really want to change, you need to be totally committed, determined and most of all consistent.

No personal trainer can instill those things in you, they can show you everything you need to do but ultimately success depends on how much you want it. T

That is so true and such good advice. The trainer can't do it for you and the motivation comes from within.

Good luck.
