Anybody give advice on car insurance

Looking at getting a car for tray and seen a lovely little runaround problem is it's a manual (she doesn't want an automatic) she only has automatic licence question is do I just insure the car myself and add her to insurance or insure it in her name and have me on as named driver. She is going to take her lessons in a manual and aims to pass her test within 3 months so I will drive car in the meantime as well. I have 1 yrs no claims bonus she has none just looking at best options

If she is going to be the main user then she needs to be the policyholder . Do you also have your own car ? If so you can't use the ncb on both policies

Fronting car insurance is illegal. But while you are the main driver insure in your name, then change when she has passed test.

There's a 3 month waiting list for driving tests btw.

Do multicar for u.. Then change when she's passed.

Not sure about the insurance but you do need to be aware that she has to follow the rules regarding learner drivers if it is a manual.

I passed my test in an automatic 2 1/2 years ago and both my instructor and the driving test examiner made it clear to me that i cannot drive a manual unless i put L plates on it and am fully supervised as a learner driver.

If she takes the car out on her own she is breaking the law.

She wouldn't be driving the car on her own only when I'm in the car with L plates on
