i pray to my atheist god every night.

i know he wont reply,he wont save my soul.

no heavenly gates,wait for me.

he wont fill,my begging bowl.

he stands,with all the other gods,

laughing at the fools below.

buying pieces of heaven,at a miserly price.

praying for forgiveness,and a place within.

it's all to do,with conscience,and guilt,

and a greed,for some kind of eternal life.

-conveniently of course, forgetting all those Atheist (by definition) religions that have no God or Gods at all (like Buddhism and Jainism), but still have a concept of an afterlife. Or, you know, non-religious atheists who believe in an afterlife. (the two are not mutually exclusive)
