Am I the only one put off by a message full of spelling mistakes?

It's usually a straight delete for me along with the " do you want a fuck" messages.

No, you're not the only one.

Doesn't bother me/us though. We're here to enjoy carefree sex, not pass an English exam. If we can get the gist of a message, all good.

Yes! Every time. I know we're not going to get on if they don't know the difference between been and being or think 'WUU2' is an acceptable question.

I know how to spell but sometimes laying in bed in the dark on the phone mistakes are made or predictive text kicks in .

Its not always lack of education x

Totally, and I know it's not a spelling test but to me it just shows if someone is right for me or not. Or maybe I should put the boundaries a little

Agree, I get sent quite a few examples from a female friend bombarded with poor spelling and grammar messages. I also laugh at text type messages, but not a snob though, sometimes you have type quick, especially on some of the threads that are over before they began..

Yes, a beautifully spelled and crafter message is preferable.

But some very nice, very respectful and very sexy men are dyslexic.

Did you know Einstein and Churchill where both dyslexic

Funny how we can judge people with a preconceived prejudice.

I myself I'm dyslexic, as are a fair few forum posters.

Unfortunately some of the spelling and grammar police have no tolerance and appear to find belittling people enjoyable.

I find that a fantastic filter

Also very true, and should've recognised this on here. Apologies.

predictive text doesn't always work either, I had to go on google to check derrière today, and other what I would call basic words. I'm getting glasses next week, as half the time I can't see what I'm writing anyway.

It wasn't a message to call anyone out, just tired of messages from guys who text talk when I have no clue what they are saying.

Poetic justice, or karma? No one is perfect, some people won't have English as a 1st language, others maybe dyslexic, deleting someone's message on the basis of poor spelling is harsh in my opinion. I like people for who they are, bad spellings, or not, poor grammar, or perfect prose. But hey, we all have preferences, and boundaries...each to their own...

Some times it is easyer for us to wright things as they sound most dyslexic people spell things phonetically (big word siri is a genius) i totally get how frustrating it must be but we really cant help it.

So is this another one of those things that people aren't allowed to have a preference on then?

I appreciate there are reasons, but there are reasons for most things in life.

Of course not, but it's just good to remember that a bad speller could be dyslexic. They could be a lazy writer too but best not to reject them until you now which they are

"It wasn't a message to call anyone out, just tired of messages from guys who text talk when I have no clue what they are saying. "

saying a message is littered with spelling mistakes, like you did in your OP, is hardly comparable to text speak as those who use it actually choose to use it...

I always thought text speak was for people who were lazy or actually dyslexic.

not particularly, so long as i can understand it it gets due attention, it's the content i find that matters more than the spelling.

life's too short to care if people are sticking rigidly to the queens proper english, it has zero bearing on how much i may or may not enjoy their company

it originated from back in the day when a text message was just that, one text and no longer so you'd hve 2 crm as mch as poss in2 1 msg 2 save spce

it's seeped into modern language in some ways, social media and such..it's how language evolves though, constantly changing due to various influences and with todays speed of information it's happening fast is all
