How are you ever supposed to know if u r interested in somebody when they just have a black bloody shadow profile pic & not a single public pic. To me it just feels pointless making any effort. Opinions please.

Yours shows some personality and thought, but I would say there are plenty of pics people use as avatars that would never identify them but at least give the viewer an idea of what they are like. Having a revealing avatar and being anonymous are not mutually exclusive.

Unless the profile is absolutely cracking I'd ignore a profile without pics.
