It's meant to be a great night out-but haven't managed it yet.

It's a pretty town alright...

Yea there's a lot of that. There are two halves to town though on a night out.

The 'posh' bit, where the slightly more refined (and grown up) folk go,and the meat market pissed up wankers side.

As I'm *cough* more mature now,I stay on the posh side whenever possible...

Yea it can be and down in the square where Salvation is.

I try to stick to places like Kennedy's off of Stonegate.A lot more expensive to drink but usually keeps the idiots away...

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

We didn't invite them!

As hiredgun says, there are places to go that are very pleasant. I stick to the real ale pubs like Brigantes, Last Drop Inn, Ye Olde Starre Inne etc etc. Avoid Yates's and the Reflex like the plague.

Harrogate is an old folks town. More pensioners per square mile than Florida. It makes York look like the Mardi Gras.

yup

we had a bit of food too but we asked them to check the bill was correct to which they confirmed was £3.70 was the correct price

still a way to go before they get to the 6 euros i paid once in barcelona for a 250ml bottle of water in a bar

as a very occasional alcohol drinker, i find it is generally the case that it is cheaper to buy alcohol rather than soft drinks in bars /restaurants (value for money wise)
