John Simm was ok as the Master but the most underused actor in that role was Derek Jacobi who, in the big 'reveal' that he was the Master, did a brilliant turn transforming from the bumbling Professor Yana to the evil Master in the excellent 'Utopia' before regenerating almost immediately into the Simm version.

Can't wait for the new series, I'm going into Geek mode just thinking about it!

Thinking it won't be a flashback but in the same way they've had a multi Dr sroy they are going for a multi Master story.

Possibly Simms, Eric Roberts (one rumour Paul McGan is appearing) and Derek Jacobi. I think 4 versions of the Master would make any Timelord regenerate.

I took my kids out of school early once so we could drive over from kent to Cardiff to see it being filmed, we saw the second one with James Corden in where the doctor goes 'hello Craig! I'm back!' Love that episode!

One thing I've been wondering: it's been established that Time Lords can "sense" other Time Lords and that they even recognise each other post-regeneration. So why did 12 fall for Missy's "I'm a robot" ruse in her first appearance and why didn't he recognise her immediately?

The same person said that there should be a female Dr, a Black one. Because it's 2017. Why should a male role model be appropriated by so called pc mad feminists just to appease them? Men don't call for Miss Marple or Jessica Fletcher to suddenly be male do we? If real feminists want a female Timelord why not create one from scratch or reintroduce Romana (younger viewers do some Googling there or watch the classic series instead of just yammering on about the series since Eccleston) rather than force it onto an established male role...as for the characters race I am used to him being "White"...its too much of an idiotic change for a conceit that works and is well established. If you want to "jump the shark" fine, force such changes onto the show and be prepared for it to tank...
