So when I read forumites posts, I imagine what they look and sound like, and guess their personalities based on opinions, writing styles and the manner in which they debate.

But what about where they live? Without giving personal details, how about describing where you live and the view from your window?

I'll start...trees, grass, horses on the fields and lots of flowers coming up..Though it's dull grey and drizzling with wind coming off the river, making a night on the forums seem like a good idea.

Long pebbled driveway, lots of flowers and green grass before the wall and gate, otherside of the road is just tree's

West Wales

At the front a road that's busy during rush hour but before 6 and after 8 is very quiet, out back, some patio furniture, no fence, then a field, then another field, then another then a country lane then a mates farmhouse & his fields.

Bit different to Brixton where I was born.

I've just moved from Bruntsfield, down to Galashiels.

I've swapped all the lovely old buildings for a beautiful view of the Eildons

usually on here from my bed on a day off so a bit of guttering and some blue sky on a good day - if im on the sofa i can see the fence and bit of sky - but if i have the window open i can hear stuff - birdsong - the pain of a next doors dog that never gives up barking - and the tram - sounds bleak huh

Immediately out of my bedroom window I can see my garden surrounded by gardens reaching down to the next street. Houses and in the distance I can see open fields and a forest, we live on the edge of a national forest so it's very green and rural. X

There and to the left a bit

Through the patio doors, the patio (obviously!!), the rotary dryer, the right hand fence, with the trees of the wood we live near beyond it. A corner of our lawn, currently no cats in sight but regularly at least one of the three are out there.

I look out of my window and all I see is the green of fields and trees. A huge horse chestnut tree shades my window sometimes and at the moment the field is awaiting the arrival of the new bullocks that will occupy the field until December.

I can typically hear the birds singing , the flow of the river and the church bells. On a still day I can hear the trains in the distance.

Directly outside my window is a red hawthorn covered in fresh leaves. This tree has seen many an epic battle in recent history. A bitter and sometimes bloody feud between the squirrels and the magpies.

Around and about we have the garden; poorly laid drive, stacks of slate that'll one day be a path and ravenous, ill-tended greenery. Many a ball has been consumed by those ever hungry plants.

The drive is terminated by gates that were once a trawler captained by a great grandparent. Beyond... the Crescent, where my monsters have mastered the arts of bicycling, scootering and swashbuckling.

The back-garden - invisible from my current vantage point - is a land of ponds and secret nooks. Home to frogs, toads, newts and other creatures.
