Guys offering photoshoots

Just seen a thread elsewhere which prompted me to ask this. I get asked to do these all the time via private messages here, and sometimes they offer money. (Bit against fab rules and naughty of them) anyway! I get the impression it's a common message women receive. Has anyone ever taken someone up on the offer of a photoshoot? Did they offer money and was this a legitimate offer? Did they expect relief in return? Did they give you good pics to use on your profile? Please share your experiences

We did for our couples profile and for mine, the guy didn't ask for anything in return, and there was no play either, he just took the pics, then we sat round and chatted for a bit.

I've done shoots for a few fellow fabsters, with many more in the planning. It's just about finding the right person if you really want a shoot with someone.

anyway he sent me a link to his website, he had some good pics on there so we arranged for him to come and take some pics of me...

so yes, there are genuine photographers on here and you can usually tell by the fact they don't offer to pay you

I've never ever asked for anything over and above taking photos! I'm always respectful and don't do any letching or anything. We agree a format in advance, plan some photos and then work through it. Quite professional really.

I've never been asked to do anything either, just wouldn't seem right unless it was some pre planned role play scenario because the photographer has so much power?

genuine photographers would prefer the practice so you are helping them out too

Go with your instincts, research anyone that's offering. Legitimate togs will provide you with websites or links to samples that are verifiably theirs.

Great question- maybe my Hobbies which include life modelling and photography are linked to my other secret urges if that makes sense?

I'm definitely looking for fun and of course I enjoy photographing the naked body- I'd be lying if I said I didn't. I think I just know where the line is, I've heard loads of stories of fake togs trying to get off with models and take advantage- that makes me sick.

If I met someone (it has happened with a past partner) and then photos became part of our relationship then that's great but it's very different.

Not sure if that makes sense!

Thing is, the majority of the time their own profile photos are woeful.

Once had a guy email us offering to take photos "to make our profile look a lot better". The photos on his profile lacked even the basics of photography; bad lighting, terrible composition etc.

I'm an amateur photographer and I'm just starting to do boudoir photography. It's something i enjoy and i do it for the love of photography and for showing the beauty of the female form in a classy and artistic way. I've shot amateur and professional models and also have my own studio lighting. There are some of us who are genuine and not after anything else besides taking photos.

We all start somewhere! I actually got into taking photos because I was asked/dared to pose as a life model.

Realising I couldn't do too much posing for classes due to work and family etc I got into the idea of taking my own photos. (If I could draw I'd do that!)

I found a few models on Craigslist but so many fakes on there

I go to a studio in Manchester that has group shoots. £20 from 7pm until 10pm. There are normally about 6 togs and 2 professional models. Great for practising. I wouldn't pay someone off here to take their pics when for £20 i can shoot professional models. But if someone would like some pics for free with no play so i can practice then all well and good

there seems to be more and more "professional" photographers on here offering to do great profile pics for you, most of them have rubbish pics on their own profile! I would avoid this type of offer personally

I took someone up on this kind of offer years and years ago after a couple i know said he was straight up ..

He took 420 pics (most were awful)

But then was expecting something in return.. That wasn't agreed upon and it was very uncomfortable.

I'd never agree to do it again.. i just take my own pics now..

We had a guy do ours when I was last on. Lived local, took some great shots, some not so great but what we were looking for .

He did have a business in photography though so you could see his 'real' work. He just fancied trying something different and we needed pics done so it worked fine.

Had a wee play in the end too

I think some guys see it like an artist sees a life model, some get off on taking photos and some are in it for what they can get.

I would never allow anyone to take naked or in any way sexy photos of me other than Mr N. Too much opportunity for the images to be kept and used elsewhere.

I'm an amateur. I have sold photos but it's the exception rather than the rule. I have a proper flashgun but no lights, but then my preference is "available light".

I mention it in my profile so it's there if anyone wants to contact me about it, but I have never contacted anyone else requesting they be my model and have no intention of doing so.

If someone asked me to take photos, we could discuss a photoshoot, but that discussion would include copyright, editing and payment.

My style is the sort of photos I take, I'm not really interested in changing what I do just to get the shoot.

If someone likes my style, and we can agree on All the other things, and we get on well, then we can make some good images together.

A shoot can be a lot of work, it isn't very sexy getting a sexy end result

I had someone ask if they could take my photos ones. He spoke with a think Australian accent and told me he was a student.

I told him that he and any institutes couldn't share my photos without my permission or else they would be prosecuted, he started sweating and run off

Some of them are genuine photographers, some of them are creeps, Largely, in my experience, they're just not very good. (My professional opinion as a photography journalist...)

I get a message or two a week from people wanting to photograph me. They always get a sharp message back pointing out that I don't have the 'taking photos' option on my profile and that they should piss off to the model portfolio websites rather than trying to get people on here to do it for free.

I use my own cameras, take images away for editing, deliver in an online gallery or by USB stick.

Why? Because people trust me not to be a twunt with the security of their files, and my reputation is too hard earned to mess with by screwing someone over.

Despite what some above have said, there are good people on here.

But...

You can hand over your camera and have someone take some shots

Or...

You can trust someone to use the gear they know, take the shots away, do a good job editing them and hand them over on a USB stick.

It's all about trust.

Sounds like a chancer to me and to be honest you take a great picture of yourself without any help, some clubs on occasions do have professional photographers there offering free pics
