I don't do many mistakes at work, but when I do, I don't do it by halves!

Opened up the petrol station today and for a change and volunteered to do the alarm this time. Well, I must not have hit the buttons hard enough, as it started going off. My colleague tried to turn it off, but it wouldn't stop. Went to open the door into the back and the white anti-burglar smoke starting filling the kiosk! It was just like a fog!! Us and the duty manager were unable to turn it off!

Eventually, after an hour of ringing in our ears, between us, the duty manager and the engineer on the phone, we all realised that the intruder alarm had actually stopped, but it was the fire alarm that was sounding, because of the smoke.

So I managed to make the alarm 'silent', but the alarm was still active. After several hours, duty manager showed up again and reset it.

Sorry to the nearby houses being woken up at 6:30 on a Sunday morning. It wasn't my fault. I blame it on the alarm problems from the previous few days!

What blunders have you done at work, which you could laugh at afterwards?
