This isn't a joke or an Aprils fool. Are you someone who flushes them....?

Sky news report from Thames....they are entering the food chain!

They are marketed as flushable.....but they go through the system, don't biodegrade. The micro plastics end up in rivers and seas. 75% of fish around Thames estuary found with these plastics in their gut. They are micro plastic so pass into bloodstream and flesh....we eat fish...we eat wet wipe plastics!

Ive heard of the same thing with facial scrubs etc damaging the environment.

The microbeads in scrubs, shower gels and toothpastes are an avoidable part of this plastic pollution problem. A single shower can result in 100,000 plastic particles entering the ocean.

It is estimated that as much as 86 tonnes of microplastics are released into the environment every year in the UK from facial exfoliants alone.

To small to be filtered by sewerage systems, microbeads swiftly flow into our oceans, rivers and lakes where they float and absorb toxins, then are ingested by marine life because they resemble fish eggs. This makes them even more immediately dangerous than a discarded drink bottle!!

It is highly likely that humans then consume the toxins when they eat the fish or animals who have ingested the plastics.

They say mercury ingestion is possible from eating seafood too with the amount of pollutants in the sea.

all fish/seafood contains trace mercury..as yet the dangers are completely outweighed by the benefits..there are a couple of very specific areas where tuna contains higher than usual levels but you'd still need to eat an unfeasible amount to run any risk..pollution from cars is still far more dangerous to us than mercury in fish..

i often wonder if they're doing it on purpose, like feeding us shit to get rid of all the rubbish we/they are producing.

most stuff classed as food is crap produced from cheap plant based products as well.
