LCD technology is as good as Plasma these days. You will only see a better picture than LCD at very large sizes and also viewing from very acute angles.

Also as has been said Plasma has a shorter life span.

I like TV's with mustaches, the contrast is funny.

General rule is that if you buy bigger than a 42" than your best off with plasma but for 42 and smaller LCD has a better resolution.

I am in the process of making cardboard tellies to see what various sizes look like hanging from the ceiling... I don't know about LCD or plasma, but I can recommend Walkers crisp boxes.
