Hi all, I hope someone here could possibly help me as I'm completely stuck and don't know what to do. Basically I'm trying to recover my service history for my new car and have found the previous keepers (Camden Corperate) to of rebranded and a year later went in to administration. I have the V5 and it's blank booklet but I want my service history. Does anyone have any inside knowledge or tips to help please? Thanx in advance.

*bump* sorry for double posting but I really need some advice. There must be either a car dealer/mechanic or a technical person on this site with the knowledge I require

Have you got the invoices that you received when you had the vehicle serviced?

I haven't had it serviced I'm the second owner but the first is a big company that has gone bust. Was hoping there would be an electronic trail attached to the car (i.e logs kept online) but I can't find one

Contact the appointed Administrators?

They may not help, or it may cost, but worth a try. If not readily apparent, it shouldn't be difficult to locate the firm who acted.

Take a day trip to Liverpool and buy a rail ticket for your return.

Problem solved.

If you can find who serviced it they will reprint invoices for a price. You may find they won't do this but may get you a replacement service book and stamp if for you with the dates of the service. Which ever it will cost.

What make is the car? Premium brands are the easiest to source and with any make, you should be able to go to your local dealer and get a copy! It should all be on a dtatbase and should be accessable anywhere in the UK..

Camden would not necessesarily have given you the service book and if they did, it may not have been stamped. As with all Lease companies, they usually just supply a computer printout from the garage, that is crap at best! The premium brands will be able to supply a service history just by plugging your ignition key/fob into a reader and job done!

None of this is cheap! Can cost upwards of £70 from bread and butter car makers and from £45 for premium brands, depending on the model! Some of the cheaper brands charge the most!

Good luck with that, you'll need it when you come to sell..

There's some history and names re Camden Corporate's recent history here

"Liberty Corporate Finance is pleased to announce the completion of the Barclays Private Equity backed buy-out of Leighton Buzzard based Camden Corporate Fleet Services ("CCFS").

Established in 1996, CCFS has grown to become a leading provider of services to large fleet customers, such as vehicle rental firms and insurance courtesy cars. CCFS offers a range of services such as vehicle delivery, taxation and registration, in-life management, refurbishment and re-marketing of ex-fleet vehicles. CCFS also operates a number of new and used car dealerships across the Ford, Vauxhall, Nissan and Renault marques.

In June this year CCFS acquired rival fleet services provider Inchcape Automotive Ltd, giving CCFS a significant increase in operational capacity and providing a platform for future growth.

Headquartered in Leighton Buzzard but with logistic operations in Islip and Corby in Northamptonshire and dealerships in Milton Keynes, Dunstable, Aylesbury and Northampton, CCFS deals with all the major vehicle manufacturers and vehicle rental companies in the UK. Liberty were appointed by Barclays Private Equity to assist the CCFS management team in the preparation of a business plan and forecasts and to advise on deal related issues.

Steve Thomson from Liberty commented:

"CCFS is a substantial local business with huge opportunities to integrate its recent acquisition of Inchcape Automotive Limited and to continue to provide outsourcing solutions to the vehicle manufacturers and its vehicle rental customer base. We enjoyed working with BPE and the management team at CCFS and look forward to working with them again in the future."

Nick Roberts, CCFS Finance Director commented:

"The investment by Barclays Private Equity will enable us to develop the business through its next growth phase. The mechanics of the buy-out process were new to the management team and Liberty worked with us, using their Corporate Finance skills and buy-out experience to enable us to deliver what BPE and the banks needed in the buy-out."

Perhaps one, or other, of the names can help.

Thanx people but its just going to cost a lot more time and money then I would like to put in. Just unhappy that the place I bought the car from weren't straight with me about the history. Lesson learnt....I'm getting an official car next time (meaning main dealer I.e Jennings).

If they misled you return the car or take them to small claims court.
