Why when your own children's relationships hit a rocky patch do you feel it ...hate them having their bad patches hurts more than when my own marriage broke up and I'm well over that

Unfortunately because you can only watch on knowing that by large you are powerless. When you only want to best for the ones you love it's heart wrenching to be a spectator though you know it's what you have to do

Yes, I feel it. If I could feel all the hurt for them, I would. Teens are very angst years. I am convinced there is still an invisible umbilical cord that joins me to each one of them ...

We as parents want to take away and pain,hurt or harm for our children no matter how old they are.

It hurts to see them hurt.

It's awful. Then I have to remember that we've all been through it and we all have to learn how to manage relationships and recover from the bad bits.

I just keep sending 'hope you're ok' text messages as that gets a better response than face to face concern, at the moment.

I'm also resisting the urge to go over to her place and tell her to stop messing him around.

Think she also looks towards me as been a mother figure

I won't tell them what to do cus at end of the days they are adults

But it doesn't stop the hurt she been part of my family for nearly 7 years so not just a short time in my life n my other children's lives
