Anyone else think all of the soaps today seem to have the same boring rubbish these past years?

Used to watch Corrie but stopped last year as its always the same. The plots are mainly someone cheating on their loved ones, someone being pregnant with someone else's baby, couples either splitting up or losing a partner in death and the worst one of all, villains getting away with murder.

Anyone else think the same?

It's a bit like this place can be for some people. Full of drama and always negativity. I just watch them for fun and light heartedness, the same as I'm on here for

Thought I'd bring back this thread to mention another thing that is seen on soaps today. Innocent people going behind bars for crimes they didn't commit.

Mum and dad were watching Corrie earlier and I heard Anna being given the guilty verdict while phelan gets away with it.

Those in charge of these soaps sure know how to piss off the fans don't they by dragging these plots for too long. This will probably cause people to stop watching them altogether.

I've not watched them for around 15 years, they were far too depressing back then.

What stopped me watching Corrie anymore was when Eileen (being a complete stupid bitch) married that cancerous turd Phelan.

I just looked at the comments on Corrie's facebook page and just as I thought would happen, people are piss and are gonna stop watching Corrie due to the dragged on storyline and bad scriptwriting.

The way these plots are dragged on is their way of saying "Fuck you" with a big middle finger to the viewers

I never watch them these days.

Corrie was the best, and carried a fair bit of humourous dialogue and set pieces.

Once it went all murderous and featured highly unfeasible plots I bailed out.

However, Rea watches Corrie quite avidly, I just retire to bed with a good book.

Yeah. No wonder Corrie never wins best soap because of their shit scriptwriters. This show never seems to portray real life anymore. It's gonna get to the point where people will switch off and the ratings will keep plummeting bringing about the end of Corrie

I agree. The plots used to be good back in the early 2000s and now they just get dragged on to the point where it's just ridiculous

Fully stopped watching when Tracy was freed from prison because the expert witness was slap dash but she'd admitted murder on the grounds of defence, effing ludicrous!

Leicester

People complain when the storylines are over and done with in a matter of episodes. People complain when the storylines are dragged out... Can't win.

I'm one of these that thinks they should go back to certain storylines at some point, especially when someone leaves/dies they're forgotten about within a week (unless it's a who done it case)!

I was pretty pissed when I saw Tracy return to the street.
