Menston near Ilkley

Well I've been called some names in my time but this takes the bisquit. I tried to get on the bus using my senior citizens bus pass and was told 'You'll have to get the next one, you're twirly'

I ask you?????

twirly ??????? im cnfused with this . is this something that relates to you specifically or is something to do with the type of pass ? or was the driver just an arse ?

Used to hear this a lot when I lived in Brum - the senior citizens were called twirlies by many of the drivers as they'd often try it on by getting on the early (i.e. peak time) buses with all the people going off to work, before their passes were valid..
