How much water do you drink each day ?

Hampshire

I saw a report online where a woman did an experiment of drinking two litres a day for three months and at the end she looked years younger.

I've been doing it for about a month and I can't say I've noticed any difference apart from needing to piss more frequently

In the middle

I drink a lot of fluids and I suppose I don't look too bad for 50 and yes the endless trips to the toilet are pretty annoying but that just shows everything is working

I'm not sure but drink a Loy more skimmed milk than water and can consume 4 pints without effort. Not brilliantly healthy. Plus lots of hot tea

That should have read 'lot more skimmed milk' but soya milk was on my mind, hence corruption

I drink based on the colour of my wee. Let's me see whether I am adequately hydrated or not so it can change from day to day

I drink lots of water plus a bit of tea/decaf coffee.

However i have been told (by my consultant) that i should drink far less but i struggle to drink less and end up feeling thirsty

Drinking too much water can actually be bad for you.

Because the electrolyte (mineral) content of the blood is diluted, resulting in low sodium levels in the blood, a condition called hyponatremia

You can look healthier. Sparkly eyes, fresher brighter skin and so on. But you can't turn back time and look years younger.

Myself i don't drink water at all. Hate the stuff. Only drink decaf tea and a glass of milk at bedtime and i look around 10/15 years younger than my age according to every person who knows my age. So maybe that's the way to go

I don't drink plain water. I drink about 6 maybe 8 cups of red bush tea and decaf coffee. There's also water in the food I eat.

Drinking too much water can be counter productive because it will dilute the minerals and salts in your body leaving you depleted. The recommended amount of liquid is total intake rather than just water that you drink.

I'm not sure of the amount; I'll guess at a litre. I drink some every time I go into the kitchen and while I'm cooking, and take a bottle with me when I go out.

If I buy a drink while I'm out it's always water.

People do say I don't look my age and I'm always being mistaken for my 8 and 9 year old grandchildren's mother, and my daughter's sister.

I still look in the mirror and see old though

Minimum of 2 litres a day, also helps with inch loss if trying to lose weight as it helps with fluid retention

I've never d*unk enough, but have been trying harder the last couple of weeks. Once I managed 1.5ltrs of water in a day and for me that was pretty good going.

My skin looks much better, and healthier. I think it does brighten and plump the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines so will make someone look younger and healthier.

I always have 2.5 litres at work. It was part of the reason I lost 3.5 stone as with no calories in the drink, all calories can be dedicated to food. I used to drink and the calories/sugar content is frightening.

Between 2 and 4 depending on the day, mostly at work, often told that I look up to ten years younger than I am, can't see it myself, but like others have mentioned definitely feel better after the days I drink most.

Water..none. ever really.

I rarely get thirsy. I can work all day outside in summer and not have a bottle. I just forget to drink. Never seems to fuss me though. Couple brews a day is perfect

6 pints (fuck your decimal system) of coffee flavoured water here, at least.

water doesn't make you look young, all the chemicals in it...it just keeps you hydrated, so say you have a hangover and look like shit then water will slightly help with that.

Drinking water may help hydrate your body, but it's increasing your healthy fat intake that helps you look younger.

I'm a pharmacy technician and I've been researching this for some time.

Was one of those 5 glasses a day, until I realised my potassium levels were dropping, I could hardly lift a thing at the gym... so, I would agree with the poster somewhere above, drink just enough to change the colour of your urine to clear...

I was told that if im not waking up in the night for the toilet I'm not drinking enough water. Also there's a urine chart online you can look at to see if you are hydrated enough. It's amazing how little people know about the effects of not drinking enough water.

I.e

Headaches

Fatigue

Blemishes

Spots

Overheating

Just some of the daily frustrations due to dehydration
