Infected insect bites antibiotics have been started plus super strength antihistamines this evening. Slapping on aloe Vera gel, going to have to sleep with one leg hanging out of the bed to keep it cool.

Growing up in south Africa We used to bath with about 20 teabags in the bath. You feel a bit of a twit and you keep waiting for the milk and sugar to be added, but it really helps with bug bites and also sunburn. All the tannin helps the sunburnt red turn a more flattering brown.

I know it sounds crazy, but for bug bites its wonderful.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Have you got one of those gel packs in the freezer for the cool bags? Wrap it in a tea towel and use that to cool it.

Oh I feel your pain. I'm allergic to mosquito bites and the itch is unbelievable! Can you bathe in salt water? I also put bicarbonate of soda paste on mine!

It's driving me crazy! Having just looked at my leg, (bite is just behind my knee) the red is now half way down my calf and creeping up above the back of my knee. Plus a very large bruised looking area. Now going to stay up to try and get the third antibiotic in before I go to sleep!

If you haven't got the frozen peas etc. then just put half a bottle of tap water in the freezer, let it freeze and then wrap that. You can rest the back of your knee on it when you're in bed.
