As any woman would know that time of the month is painful some more than others. But wat I'd like advice on is wat is the best thing to do for really painful cramps other than paracetamol and ibruprofen as I'm finding I'm close to tears and can't take the medication I'm on for mine until tonight

A heat source can help? A hot water bottle or wheat bag? Or even a warm bath?

hot water bottle, some over the counter pain killers, feminax i believe are strong, (make sure you can take what you buy with what your prescribed though) and get as comfy as possible, that's my best advice....might be better from someone with actual experience though. get well soon

Agree with this, for me with most pains hot water bottles often work better than painkillers

I take 4 hrly Ibuprofen and paracetamol as Feminax make me sick. I always use my wheaty as heat definitely is a comfort. It's the most horrendous pain and I get so bad at times I'm actually sick with the pain and feel like fainting. Sometimes a hot bath can help ease too.

I find solpadeine max works better for me than a combination of paracetamol and ibuprofen. You can only take them for 2 or 3 days at a time but thats about all i need them for each month.

A long walk (despite not feeling like one) a hot bath and a hot water bottle also help with the cramps.

I sympathise with you op. Take care.

I promise peppermint tea helps! I never take painkillers and just drink tea instead and it really helps. It also helps with bloating.

Walks help, warm baths, hot water bottle/heatbag

Ibruprofen lysine- often the supermarket brand is cheaper and classed as migraine relief but is exactly the same as feminax

Using tampons can irritate the cervix causing more cramps.

Have you had yourself checked by GP/Gynae sweet?

I have a fibroid and suffer terribly with this. Mine has been progressively getting worse for 7 years & I also now suffer with DUB.

On 12 tablets a day & waiting for a hysterectomy.

I'm sure your GP can help!

Good luck X

Root ginger, most supermakarkets sell it now adays.

Chopped (like garlic) and boiled for a fews mins into a tea. Sweeten a little and drink.

Old wives tale that actually works! Ginger is generally good for stomach pains.

Hope it helps

You have my every sympathy. I've suffered ever since I started my period at 11.

Hot water bottle is my best friend. Relieves the pain and is very comforting.

Have you been to the doctors?

Being a woman really sucks sometimes.
