This may become a rant, I apologise...

My housemate and I (she isn't on here) are both quite promiscuous however I always think about her before I have someone round as our bedrooms are only separated by a thin wall. She currently has someone over and I asked if she was going to fuck him so I could go grab my headphones but she said he was going home...

Low and behold, they're like a pair of horny teens going at like rabbits.

Basically, what does everyone else think, when you have a housemate, do you prewarn or just go for it?

Where are your headphones? In her room? Go get them!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It's been 24 years since I had a housemate but I seem to remember we just went for it. Sometimes it was annoying... usually when I was equally active.

I don't have any headphones but if I put my jack plug in your socket you might not notice her making noise quite as much

We don't have a housemate but we have had a lodger in the past.

A tiny bit of consideration is all that's required there's not really an excuse for a lack of something that's free and not hard to do.

A little consideration wouldn't go amiss.

I think it's because I'd already asked if he was staying and she said no and now he clearly is.. have sex, have fun, just let me grab my headphones before it starts, because he sounds like he's awful at what he's doing!

Without needing to give notifications to others, I think housemates should respect each other and not be disruptive or disturb rest and sleep. It's a common courtesy to ne low key and always to respect others in their home

Haha my headphones are in. I just tend to give a little heads up if I ever have sex and she's home. I just wondered what other people did and if I was just being too up myself about it... I obviously am.

I can't recall anyone ever making an announcement that they were about to have sex now in any of the shared living arrangements I had

Wasn't asking for announcement, merely a "hey he's staying" I always say something if I have company.. maybe I just overshare?

If she's that promiscuous just assume that he would stay and always keep your headphones handy...take the initiative instead of waiting for her to let you know

Beauty. Any chance you can prewarn her that I'm coming round? Be there in about 5 hours

I'll be honest I never have with my flat mate given warning, now I feel guilty that maybe I should have. Generally past GFs would be quieter when round, but my last ex was so over-conscious she refused to do it when he was in.

But personally I'd say in my situation I assumed he would assume noise might happen

No I don't think your oversharing at all.....like already stated, a little consideration goes a long way. Unfortunately these days, if you believe that everyone will do for you, what you do for them....you end up often disappointed.
