that barb wire on your arm? it's the only one i can see.

you could cover that. it's probably have to be dark.

i was well happy when o covered a few tattoos i never really liked but got them coz there wasn't much choice 25 yrs ago.

Yeah the barbed wire, also need a good tattooist, not a tattoo fixer job.

I got a name covered a few years ago and tbh i regretted getting it covered cos it was someone who was part of my life for a long time.

Anyway how about some celtic work to cover it up. Is there anything interesting in your ancestory?

Not sure about my history but I think it would need to be a pattern of some sort

you call tell who is a good artist by looking at their portfolio. it's also helpful to look at that because you can see what styles of art they are good at and if you like that then they're probably the right artist for you.

a lot of artists have facebook pages now so you can browse their work that way, if you have fb. or they have official sites.

once you've picked your artist they will have ideas of what will cover that up. they can use black segments of pictures or dark shading within a picture to cover up most tattoos.

i covered mine with a big fuck off black panther. did the job nicely but just the panthers head covers my old tattoo.

Choose what style you want and find an artist who specialises in it. My tattoos are all different styles and done by different artists.

Have a look for tattoo conventions coming up near you, portfolios on facebook are ok but its better to actually see them close up and personal, i personally love the bio mech sleeves going on and clockwork ones too which could cover it with a half sleeve.. you dont want someone who will just do a big old heavy cover up.. you could also benefit from a few laser sessions just to lighten it up make it less harsh when its covered.

There is a massive convention at Doncaster Racecourse in August I think

I like it. Why not just get it re-done?

somewhere in the Shire of Derby

Find a decent tattooist, they'll make it into something really good, amazing how well they can cover up barb wire tats these days

I wouldn't bother covering with another band, get a half sleeve done. Go big or go home.

Or there's laser removal, but it hurts like a bitch in a really non fun way.

If you're looking for a design to cover it up, get yourself over to deviantartcom. A lot of good artists there, many of them tatooists themselves. They were no end of help when I was looking for a cover-up.

If nothing else, it'll give you a few ideas.

As someone who is tattoo-less, I think it looks ok.

A teensy tiny faint word and they cover it with a full sleeve in dark colours

Mainly because they are terrible at tattoo's. Most proper cover up tattooist's hate them as people think anything can be covered, also google tattoo fixers fails/complaints, a lot once healed havent hidden the tattoo at all
