DeMontfort Hall - Leicester...great venue, unfortunately the majority of bands they have on these days are middle of the road shite.

Rock City - Nottingham...great venue, apart from the rubbish disabled access and disgusting toilets!

Nottingham Arena, NIA, Genting Arena - Nottingham/Birmingham...typical sterile enormodomes.

Civic Hall - Wolverhampton...great venue but the reverb is that bad you can often still hear the previous band when the next one is on!

The Robin - Bilston...another good venue but too many third rate AOR bands on there.

O2 Academies - Everywhere...soulless, corporate shitholes!

The Institute - Birmingham...brilliant venue, apart from the lighting in The Library, if you're a photographer!

Well OP, it depends on the kind of music you are into and where you are going to be.

If you happen to be into underground death metal and you want to know about the music venues in London then you can pm me

We're lucky in Nottingham to have such great venues. Ice arena and Rock City are great for a night out.

Northern England

Ohh let me see..I generally prefer more intimate venues, so:

The Brudenell Social Club in Leeds is superb - as is The Trades Club in Hebden Bridge. There are quite a few decent venues in Manchester - my favourite is probably Gorilla.

I recently attended a gig at The Wylam Brewery in Exhibition Park in Newcastle upon Tyne - one of the best venues I've ever been to.

Is The Talking Heads in Southampton still going?

Christ, haven't seen a band there in about a decade.

Currently in Kentish Town Forum.

Too many great venues in London to mention.
