There was a time when a gentleman wasn't considered fully dressed unless he was wearing a hat (then again there was also a time when small children were stuffed up chimneys and i guess that's frowned upon now). As a perennial wearer of said titfers what's your views on them?

"Never trust a man in a non-functional hat...."

I like hats on gents, they express character. Very few suit me sadly - my bush hat does though

JFK killed the hat. He was the first public figure to be seen on tv without a hat. Maybe Oswald was a hat fan

Anyhoos I love my hats. Beanie,Newsboy or flatcap usually but eyeing up some nice slim brim trilbys and pork pie and the like when it warms up a bit

All my hats are completely functional, they keep the woodpeckers off.

I truly wish I could wear a hat without looking the tomfool. So many situations have gone undoffed due to my absence of headware.

I have some rather splendidly silly fun hats , a goat hat a donkey hat both a gift from a friend which I cherish .

As for normal hats , I must say I don't really suit one . Though I have always fancied a flat cap for walks
