Skiing for me. Not into the ski vs board thing, there are nuisance types in both. I must admit I don't like the sound of a boarder behind scraping sideways, wondering if he's coming into my back or just turning.

I mean to cause no offence, it is all a bit of fun.

I love and respect everyone on the slopes. ONE of my good friends is a skier and we generally rip each other apart for are choice of sports. He is a prick on sticks and I am a wank on a plank simple as that.

I hope you are all having a good day.

Skiing is far better for the speed freaks (like me), and people with the dedication to learn Snowboarding is easier to learn, looks cooler, and far better when in Scotland and all the pistes are sheer ice through the middle, and all you have left is powder hugging those crappy little fences.....

Ahh y'see, I started ice skating very very young. I was barely two years old when I first started, really got into it when I was 6 or 7 years old, so can't really remember a time when it wasn't a thing for me. Almost as natural as walking nowadays.

I've been to morzine twice, deux alps, Jasna, mayrhofen and this year I went to Tignes. Used to hit the UK indoor slopes a lot freestyling but had to put the anchors on it due to expense and to many injuries.

I've never snowboarder so I couldn't say whether or not it's good or had but I'm a cross country (nordic) ski instructor and have done a lot of downhill (alpine) skiing - put of the two, Nordic is by far the best, hard work but so exilerating, especially when coming down black slopes!

Snowboarding is for people who want to learn a new sport quickly, as it’s so easy to pick up the basics. Skiing is for people with more patience to master a technical sport, and who have a desire for speed...................

Boarding not exactly a 'quick' sport to learn but is easier than skiing to pick up the basics, although progress is slower.

It was maybe once ?

Now with some pretty serious back country fat boys with equally rad graphics and maybe some freestyle thrown in , riding the deep stuff tickling ones dangleberries

The objective player could not choose between them

I wear the same yellow and orange "looseish" gear what ever I ride and that's what it's about , just riding the mountain with a massive smile xxx

Yep, years ago I booked a week in Aviemore with a mate who’d never skied before, but there was no snow at all when we got there, only black ice across the pistes, with dry powder down each side hugging those little fences they have in an attempt to keep the snow. So we swapped to snowboards and rode the powder for a week. He had never boarded either, and within a day or so was going quite quick and controlled, although the poma lifts were a challenge!

It’s an age old ‘debate’ - I ski, board and skate, they all lend themselves to each other and great fun plus the Apres of course! Just enjoy the scenery, the craic plus a few beers, what’s not to like?!!!!

Speed wise, I clocked 100 kmh on my new board last year and the skiers were struggling to keep up. A bit hairy, eyes streaming and legs a shaking but great fun! Volkl AFC directional board, we’ll recommended!

Time to get all the gear out for a couple of jollies

Burnleyish (She/They)

I really want to learn to snowboard but i've always been too much of a chicken. I've had a few friends try to convince me to have lessons.

It's worked
