Don't do it you will regret it and living with someone that swings has its downfalls... not trying to sound negitive but maybe look for something a bit cheaper. I love having my own place as its MY space...

not one to pick up spelling errors but you might want to change that to block.... a bloke in a bloke might attract messages from people you would rather not...

good luck and hope it works out for ya

id say has its up and down living with folk . depends how many living with one other person in a 2 bedroom is ok . depends on the person some are messy some not . their lifestyle , their morals (as you into swinging) their little things they might do , you would need to be quite tolerant as im sure there are times you will want to rip their head off and vice versa . but its cheaper and if it works out well its great , itslike having a live in mate . when it comes to the money side of things trust your instincts as i been messed aboutwith that before . either get an agreement in writing or money up front . thats my experience of it hope it helps and good luck .

Funny, I was thinking of renting out my daughter's room @ £100 a week all in. She's at uni in Derby, her dad was going to buy her a flat there, and she still has her bedroom in the marital home, four miles from me.

Decided she's not going back to Derby, but Kingston to be a mental health nurse, so she'll be living back at home!

Good luck with your search!

It makes good money sense to rent a room, however, one would loose his/her independence.

Independence to make a mess without having to tidy up immediately in the communal areas

Independence to come and go as one pleases, especially if there are small children occupying the other parts of the house

Independence to invite anyone home to join you and to stay overnight

I have not come across room rental at 100 GBP per month, more like 60-70 GBP per week all in, council tax being extra.

The money saved can easily cover the cost of hotel accommodation should one decides he/she is need of some fun!

The OP would need to weigh up the loss of independence against monetary gain, IMHO.

Hi

Your right I would loose independence, but im at work 6days a week, most the time I wouldnt be there anyway, as far as shagging is concerned, that would be a down side. But im sick of paying someones morgage for them, if I live in a room I would save money twice as quick, in 2 years I would have a deposit for my own flat. fuck knows what im going to do, if something comes up I will probably go

Its a means to an end if you are saving that much on rent. Like you say save it up for a mortgage.

Surely if you are paying £700 a month, plus utilities you could be paying your own mortgage now? ... then rent out rooms in your home to others.

It is easy to say the money saved would be put aside toward the deposit for a place of your own.

In reality, and I have come across this in a number of people I know, they spend what they have saved instead, on more expensive holidays, cars, clothes, accessories, gadgets and leisure activities.

The OP appears to have a mature head on his young and fit body, perhaps he has the will and determination to make it work, so good luck to you!
