Been watching voyager on netflix and it just occured to me why the hell do they never wear body armour?

Storming a borg ship the borg all have personal sheilds and armour our brave Janeway and co....spandex.

Even enterprise which its closer to realism tact still no body armour

Phasers wouldn't work on the Borg anyway, they would have to keep changing the frequency so they couldn't adapt.

But if it has mass rhen armour woukd definitly be useful.

Given the beams get stopped by random bits of scenery it wouod seem like not much would be needed lol

What kind of android box?

If youve got one kf the new hdr tvs the nvidia sheild seems an epic box.

Uninstall netflix and reinstall would be my first port of call

Same kind of thing we shoot around the LHC or other particle accelerators.

.iirc the LhC has a big heavily reinforced concrete room with a few meter thick carbon target block.

Shouks there be a problem the beem is diverted into there to dissipate the energy by blasting the block

Reinstall the app. Usualy is quicker than any fault finding excercise onky takes a few mins

Used to watch them, wait for the unknown to go on the away team and shout "Don't do it!! Say you've got a headache! Your gunna die stoopid!!"..

Bit of a shock when security officer Natasha Yarr (iirc) copped it, she was hot! And we knew her name too

They have used body armour at various points in trek.

But, on the point of the Borg in particular there is a good reason they don't. The main threat with the Borg is assimilation, they rarely use energy weapons. And the assimilation tubules can apparently pierce titanium. It would take an ungodly amount of armour to stop them and it's more sensible to simply not carry the weight and retreat

Watching the voyager dark frontier episodes atm.

Love an episode with the borg queen in..

Very possible :D

The body armour was mostly a movie thing. I recall the security officers on the Enterprise A wearing it during the Undiscovered Country. Though there may have been other occasions
